So I've wanted to try out synthetic dreads for a long time. I spent a few days making them and  a couple of hours putting them in. I did a regular braid instead of a blanket braid, which I kind of regret, but that's okay. I'll definitely do a blanket braid next time. I was just in a hurry to see them in and stuff, but they are too loose and I am going to have to take them out early I think, probably tonight. Anyways, on to the pictures!

I also ended up having them pulled halfback the whole time because I didn't like how they looked completely down. I am thinking about doing a couple of real dreads underneath my hair, but am still researching things. My biggest concern is that I swim a lot and I can't stand a sweaty or itchy scalp. I live in Florida and so I sweat a lot and I want to be able to wash my hair normally, so I dunno. Researching a lot of things. Thanks for looking! I definitely prefer my real hair, but it's been fun!

Those look sweet, you rock red locks very well!. And you have very pretty, shiny and soft-looking hair without them...

That looks amazing! The colors really suit you well, and good job making them :D But I'm wondering, what is a blanket braid? Never heard of it!

Thanks everyone! They were a real pain to take out. I just finished. I'd read and heard it was easier to take out to put in, but the people saying that obviously didn't have hair this long! It kept tangling at the ends and knotting back together. My scalp is itchy and my hair is super poofy. It's kinda cute. Haha.

They looked good! The various pink shades are interesting, too -- so, they can't stay in for very long? Or is the point to be able to put them in/take them out whenever you want?

Oooh pretty! They go so well with your bright colored bangs!

I also made fake dreads, I have about ten of them. They are out of wool and the exact same color as my own hair, and when I blend them in they look very real.

Edit: actually now when I think about it, perhaps I should post some pics of me wearing them sometime.
