First time in years I actually "did" my hair

I never do anything to my hair. I wash it, bun it and that is that. Tonight we have to go somewhere so I "did" my hair. Don't worry, no heat or product was used.

Oh it wasn't anything special. While my hair was damp post wash I sectioned it into like 8 or 10 pieces and just lightly twisted them and wrapped them on sponge rollers. When it dried I took it down and fluffed it up a bit.

No I didn't use a product. I'm both suspicious and lazy about product. I don't like things that glue my hair together or make it crunchy or greasy so the only thing I ever put in my hair is coconut oil. The curls lasted through the next day though they were a bit more relaxed by then. I haven't washed my hair yet and it's day 3 now and all that is left is waves.

I would not say my hair is much thicker than yours. I do not have thick hair. I am an ii. My ponytail is only 2.5"ish around.

I'm dumbfounded that your ponytail is 2.5" circumference. Your hair looks so much thicker than mine and mine is right at 3" again. I guess you just don't have much in the way of taper. I have a big taper.

You lucky thing, to be able to keep those waves for so many hours! Mine'd fall straight out. The photos are absolutely stunning.

No, I don't have any big taper. I have some, towards the bottom, but not much. Your hair looks like a 1a, where mine is more of a 1c (with some random curls at my temple etc. As a child it was very curly) so that probably helps the curl stay in my hair a bit.

Maybe I've measured my ponytail wrong? What is the proper "procedure"?
