3-Cameo Comb

My name is Peggy and I’m a hair toy addict… To prove it, I am now selling some of my combs in order to make room for the really cool combs I have just purchased! Oh, why can’t I be so rich I could have every single comb I wanted???

These are antiques and collectibles, in very good to excellent condition. I package them as carefully as possible - no one likes to open a package only to find the item you were threatening death to the postman over contains a broken comb. Cruel and unusual punishment!

So, the rules: First come, first served. This means the first to PM me asking for an item has priority over it. I accept PayPal only (if there is a definite problem for you with this form of payment, talk to me). Payment is expected within three days of purchase claim and I endeavor to get the package out to you within 24 hours of cleared payment.

Shipping is a flat $3.50, with additional items at $.50 each - this is for first class domestic U.S. buyers only. For international, man, oh, man, has the postage gone insane! I’m going to have to give you the actual cost of mailing a box.

If I’ve forgotten something, please drop me a line. I really want you to be happy with any purchase you make from me. Good luck!

PS: I'm having a terrible time trying to get Photobucket to upload my pics. Some are missing and I will attempt to keep battling with the blasted PB to get them here for you. GRRRRRRRR.....

#1: Three-Cameo Comb

A gorgeous three-cameo celluloid filigree decorated and claw-set rhinestone flame top.. All stones are present and the comb is strong and substantial - you do not have to worry yourself when wearing this comb.

The cameos are plastic, I’m guessing. I have not tested them. There is a bit of adhesive on the back of one of the flames where a bit of the metalwork has been more tightly attached. There is also an inventory or auction number marked on the back of the comb.

This is a fabulous comb - you will not be disappointed!

4-¾”T x 4-½”W $48

#2: Art Deco/Nouveau Comb

A beautiful, dainty Art Deco/Art Nouveau comb decorated with enamel and blue stones, all stones are present. A bit of wear to the hand-painted enamel, normal for the age, otherwise this comb is in excellent condition.. A sweet, lovely form not normally found.

4-¾”T x 3”W $25

#3 - Ivy Leaves Diadem & Barrette Set

This is one fabulous set and comes with a history to share with the new lucky owner.

Worn by a newlywed from Brussels, Belgium to London in the late 1800’s, this set is in almost pristine condition. There is a tiny - and I mean TINY - pin-prick on the front of the comb.

The metal snap attachment needs cleaning. There is slight discoloration on attachment end, while you can see shine beneath the surface dirt on remaining piece - should glow with cleaning. Otherwise, like BRAND NEW!

Though not marked, the outlining and much of the artwork on the ivy leaves appears to be gold leaf, and is all hand-painted with fine details.

I can’t say enough about this set. It is an honor to own and to show off in the super hair found here on LHC!

The diadem comb is 3-¾”T x 6”W
The Barrette is 1”T x 3-½” W (Note the scalloping on the bottom!)

No metal combs? :( I'm still in love with my first ever comb I bought from you, which was Mr. Elephant. :) He sure was a conversation piece at my friend's birthday party. The French lotus comb was so tempting for me, but my dark hair won't do any justice to this comb. Le sigh. I'll wait again when you bring out animal quills or the unusual metal pieces.

I don't have any "fun" metal combs right now - most of them are silver or silver-plate! I'll keep my eye open for you.

I know, it's a pain, this responsibility business, isn't it?! ;o) But then there's always the flip side: Life's too short to deny yourself the simple pleasures of fulfilling a desire on occasion..... (whispering, wavering voices: "Buy the comb***Buy the comb***Buy the comb***!!!")
