Just thought I'd share this article (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2287759/Caras-mullet-alpaca-fringe--hell-happened-hair-Paris-catwalk.html) with all of you.
Be warned, t's rather catty... but the pictures are really interesting! What do you think of them?

They're not all to my taste, but I adore this...
She just looks so mysterious an beautiful! A wonderful picture, in my opinion :)

It makes you wonder if the new trend is to ditch your comb.

I really like the pincurl/rosette caps! So fun. Those are the only ones that appeal to me, though. :p

What fun! A number of them looked like wigs and less of a "ditch the comb" than over brushed look.

Dailymail's articles always seem so badly written to me, I don't know why.

Hairstyles on runways are often weird and not designed to be worn in real life(just like some clothes).

Yeah, they don't really seem to understand that, do they? :/ I'd never in a million years blind myself with the style in my OP, but it's beautiful anyways :P

I love looking at runway shots and magazines like Vogue because it is art. The make up, the hair, the clothes. It is beautiful, or interesting, or shocking, but rarely is it something that would be worn in real life.

Exactly! It's weird and generally wearable art. I actually like that about fashion, how eccentric it can be. It's not about just slapping a tight skirt on a woman and pushing her bosom up. Her clothes can be about something other than pleasing men.

Yeah, this article is acting like runway fashion is ever comparable to everyday dress. Runway hair is expected to be just as crazy as runway clothes, shoes, makeup...

I'll admit though, I laughed out loud when I reached this one

I really liked the bleached and toned spikes. I've actually done something similar with my own hair, minus some of the teasing so it doesn't look as dramatic :(

I came only to say that each time I see the title I misread it as 'runaway hair' and get the strangest images :bigtongue::p
And then I saw your pic Ghost : and I really love how you are wearing your hair and the general vibe off the picture

/end hijack !

so I guess the long fringes are because they have a budget on make up? this way they would only have to do the lips :p

I actually laughed out loud when I saw the mullet photos!! They are EXACTLY what I did to my hair for a joke a few weekends ago! I'll find the photo.....

Please excuse the lack of chestickles-I was cosplaying, so had them tightly bound, but the wig was giving me a headache ;)

That is stunning! I loved the white/black spikes too. Do you have a tutorial for that one? :D

That is some impressive binding o_o isn't that uncomfortable?!
I love that picture though. Your facial expression is just fantastic :D Eerie how similar it looks to the runway, haha! You're the height of fashion without even knowing it :P

Its a little uncomfortable, but no more so than wearing a tight corset ;)
My tummy isn't that big either, I was too busy trying not to fall about laughing to suck it in, plus awful posture ;)
I'm a trend setter, obviously :D

Bagginslover, you trendsetter, you! Who were you cosplaying?

Kyaatje and Cania, thank you :flower: I don't really have an official tutorial, it was just a spur of the moment thing I threw together out of envy of my friend's gorgeous deathhawk, but I sectioned my hair into four ponytails going vertically down the back of my head. Then I made the ponytails into buns but left a few inches of ends out. I teased them just a little bit so they would stick out more, then hit the whole thing with aquanet. The more hair you leave out of the bun, the bigger and fuller your "hawk" will be.

Jacob Black from Twilight :o It would have been more obvious if I'd pulled up my sleeve-there is a (fake) pack tattoo under there ;)

I don't know why they do anything to their hair, it really distracts from the clothing.

I liked the black-and-white spikes. But I think I wouldn't do anything like that to my own hair.

It's a bit weird that everyone's hair in this photo is almost the same length. And even has similar taper and thickness.

This happends when using hair extentions in same amount. So end result is like that everyone has same amout and lenght in extentions and that makes same braid over and over again. Anyway i am happy to see braid used in fashion and hopefully we will see more of them in the future :)

I'm not a fan of the catwalk, but I do appreciate that it is further in the 'Art' category rather than 'Wear this in public'.... The pictures are fun and unusual :) I'm just happy there's some huge frizzy biffs in there; Hey! I'm finaly in fashion! :P

I love the hair at Rick Owens. He did to same thing to the models at his last menswear show.

youtube.com/#/watch?v=Th5LGCMdaaQ @ 8:38 for the finale.

I generally dislike those side braids like at Valentino, but the ones at Miu Miu Spring Summer 2010 were fun.
