Hey everyone :) Well I just now confirmed I have enough hair to play with, and I am wondering just what I can do with it. This is the very first time I have ever grown my hair this long, so sorry for the rather newbie question. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks

I adore Gibson Tucks, but found them after my hair was already too long to successfully manage one. They look very elegant.

Cool. I just found that one on the historical hair thread :D. I am trying things out right now to find what I like. I don't think I am into the big hair side of things, maybe the simpler stuff. I won't know until I try.

If you have layers, french twist works awesome! I adore this website, she has tutorials for different updos and heat-free curls that are fantastic. I love the double bun ones she does, because it looks so fancy and makes it looks like you have more hair. I find that doing two buns next to each other really help if you have shorter layers. a lot of the contemporary styles I know of use more hairspray, teasing, and heat styling but you can definitely do most of it without the damaging processes if you like... they are youtube channels: bebexo, itsjudytime... I forget right now the rest but torrinpaige and loepsie are members here who have amazing channels and they tend not to use a lot of the teasing and etc. have fun!

They are pretty easy and all they really do is give a bit of fullness around the bottom. Unless you have a lot of hair like I do, then it starts to look like the back of a dinosaur skull. That wouldn't stop me if I could get my hair to stay in the pocket, though!

*nods* I meant big hair like the beehive styles :P The tuck looks great though. I want to try it later.
Kidari: I love bebexo's channel so far, thanks :D

Sock buns work wonderfully well on my layered waist length hair. They are quite 'big', but quite modern-big if you see what I mean? I use the rolling method rather than the pin and wrap method (if you look at a few different tutorials for them on youtube, you'll see the difference if you don't understand) as I prefer the polished look, and I find it easier than trying to contain all the layered ends ;)
