My first attempt at a Dutch braid. A little short, but easy.

very nice! I like them much better than french braids. they hold much better for me.

Thanks, longNred. I know what you mean about holding better. This one's been in for 3 hours now, and all the hair is still in it. With French braids, the sides and nape start slipping out long before now.

You did a remarkable job! The "easy" bit is a great sign since now you have another go-to style whenever you want. :D

Thanks, Gumball. That's very encouraging, coming from a master braider.

That looks great! :) I am envious of how you managed to get each section so even, my braiding skills need work, mine usually come out a little crooked or the sectioning is all uneven.

I also really like your color, have always loved darker hair with silver, its very striking.

Wow, that's a great first attempt! I only wish I could get my head around dutch braiding. As it is, and english braid is all I can manage.

It took me a long time to make a decent French braid. Today, I figured I'd try the Dutch, which is, in my way of thinking, an inside-out French braid. Beginner's luck?
