DarkChocolate, thank you! <3 yes BBB is boar bristle brush. I don't use it often but when i wear my hair down it looks nicer this way.

I had too mich time today and fake the hairstyle i have been growing out from, just stuffed the length in the sweater.

THIS IS HOW MY HAIR LOOKED THIS MORNING!

http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/misherusedai/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsfqeqsclx.jpeg

I tried wetting it with water and stroking it down, wetting it and pinning it down, wetting it and taking a tiny bit of my husbans wax to keep it down... I ended up having to dig out my straightener!

And still it started to creep out again an hour afterwards!

I am trying to deal with having equal amount of hairstrands be wispies as long hair (feels like it at times at least), but this is a whole new level!

Come join the wispies club!

Im sharing some of the hundres of styles I've done for my mom in the past. She is now on her way to long and deserved travel to Spain. Often jokes about who is going to be her next stylist he he he. :p Most of these are accent braids, since she hates updos in general but loves half ups and braids!!!

Free style waterfall braid and two intercrossed fishtails into an english braid

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y375/Marino_Torocho/P1160223_zpsbmavblww.jpg (http://s1031.photobucket.com/user/Marino_Torocho/media/P1160223_zpsbmavblww.jpg.html)

Beautiful and Romantic fishtail half up (Kayley inspired tutorial)

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y375/Marino_Torocho/P1160160_zpsvlffiaxp.jpg (http://s1031.photobucket.com/user/Marino_Torocho/media/P1160160_zpsvlffiaxp.jpg.html)

A super layered cut and blond color I did a couple of years ago, now she has soft long layers but this one was fun

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y375/Marino_Torocho/P1140806_zpst0mglfnv.jpg (http://s1031.photobucket.com/user/Marino_Torocho/media/P1140806_zpst0mglfnv.jpg.html)

... Then I made her sleep in braids and made this beachy textured side pancake accent dutch braid

There was a thread asking how to reduce frizz on curly hair. I couldnīt find the thread now, but there was a poster who said that her mother uses flax seed gel that she makes at home.

Well, since I have the same problem, I went and boiled flax seeds and made the gel and added some drops of oil to the gel, and look! No frizz! This is great, and the curls became well defined. Thank you to that poster!

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22554&d=1460927545

Btw, Iīve tried leave in conditioners, regular gel, coconut oil, nothing worked as itīd get frizzy again as soon as the products dried, so if anyone is curious, try it!

Beautiful bun Horrorpops, and Sarah your hair is always lovely.

My look for work today:
http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22588&d=1461170947

The last image is the same style without the fishtail and is kinda my go-to halfup-do. It looks and acts like a sidepony, but since it is hold together by hair it looks fuller and longer. And a lovely way to use a mini or xs flexi. Prefer it to be on the side so I get some hair around my neck and face. Feel so naked if all my hair is pulled back.

:) YW! I really want to be able to rock the silvers without resorting to dyes! My mom went grey very late (she still has only a few around her hairline ) where my dad is all grey. XD So I have no idea when the silvers will creep in. I see most of my peers' moms using dyes (not that it's bad), but I would like to be comfortable with my greys when they come, and both of you and my mother are my inspiration for that.

Then today a neighbor my age, whose wife USED to have FTL hair but now is short/curly/dyed....complimented my updo (French braid bun with Lila Rose ebony/garnet bead sticks); she was quiet)
In fact last year at this time she asked WHY I was growing it out
And last week he complimented my birch bark headband from Russia.

Bottom line...I AM HAPPY WITH LONG SILVER...let others do what they want!

Thanks again; my spirit is lifted :flower:

Actually I have no idea what I'd say

Though it comes to me as being curious/odd that MY HAIR should be such a concern to them :p

So I was messing around with my hair this morning and had a half up braid done. DH walked into the room and said "hey, that looks good, you should leave it like that" so I did, but put the rest of my hair into a vertical Lazy Wrap Bun. And the braid sort of ended up as a side braid... Looks - different. :) And I don't have to leave the house.

I like the messy texture double rope braids give to my hair. Great for tossing in some salt spray and calling it done. No product in my hair in this pic though. Just a little fuzzy from chlorine and having slept in braids.

Thanks you guys! I sometimes really hate that I found lhc and succumbed to the siren henna song and ruined my long hair but then again it forced me to start fresh and I'm on the cusp of even enjoying my length now that the canopy is approaching my shoulders and I start to have a big ole head of thick hair again to braid, or wear loose and huge volume or whatever. And I can enjoy every length along the way to long, too, since I doubt I'll chop again for a very very long time.

My hair has grown a bit more and I dyed it red again (with Directions Coral Red). Picture on the left is the day I dyed it (mid February), and the picture on the right is 2 months later, mid-April. It's faded, but not much at all really.

DreamSheep you have to die for hair & always have. The color is so so pretty but I am even more in love with your natural color which is maybe my favorite hair color. But my question is, how did you get the directions deposit only shampoo color to stick to your hair for months?? I thought Directions doesn't have any developer/doesn't open the cuticle so it just lasts a short while?
But yeah, unbelievably pretty hair on a stunning young lady, as always.

Red dye has a much greater tendency to stick to hair than any other one (or so I've found/heard). My friend used a temporary red hair dye that was supposed to wash out after 6 weeks, but now 3 years later it's still in her hair. Maybe it depends on the porosity of the hair, but sometimes it can happen

Thank you so much everyone - everyone on this forum is so lovely and kind and I am very happy to be back <3
:pegasus::pegasus:

As for how I get it to stick / how come it has stuck so long - I left it on overnight and I wash my hair once a week. :) That said, I did it last year and got it all to wash out by going to the beach and the swimming pool. I'm thinking I'd like to do some swimming over the Summer so it might not be worth redying soon, but I'd love to try Pravana (have bought some dye) next Winter and see if it's lasting power is superior. :)

And lapushka - I admit the permanence of henna always scares me! :) I do miss the blonder tips and enjoy the hair eventually fading back to it and being able to test out different shades of red. I may bite the bullet one day though - but probably not yet :)

You need a hosting site like Photobucket or Snapfish (is that still around?) or Image Shack. On that site it will have a specific URL to use here.

I was fussing today with different updos I can actually do with collarbone-length hair (the answer is not many) but I managed to get a pretty interesting something going on with a deer antler my hubby found on a trip to Jackson Hole.http://i64.tinypic.com/j5gp6o.jpg

My BF is a real wood lover, when my last hair purchase (hairfork from Schnitztube) came in he got really enthousiastic about making hair sticks and forks. He went ahead and bought a wood turning table. He started by just taking some wood from the park and his first try at woodturning ever turned in to this:

WOW!!! You are my hair twin/inspo!! My hair was originally about waist-length, but I just cut it due to crazy early pregnancy horomones/not having the energy or inclination to take care of it properly and now it is just past APL- but healthy! My hair is dark brown/black at the top and goes medium/light brown from the middle to ends...I'm Irish/Ukrainian and it doesn't know what color to be, hah! But anyway, I just henna'd for the first time and I love the way my hair feels...so healthy! I'm hoping mine will be this color when it's longer...right now, I cut off most of the lighter parts of my hair. My hair texture looks just like yours. I like your blog, please keep it up! Tried a new hairstyle out of necessity (big dent in hair from scrunchie) and I'm not sure how I feel about it on me. That's why I took three pics. I have a massive forehead so idk ... And Facebook reduced the photo quality. Grrr ...

Boo yah! I just did my first SMT, t-shirt plopped, and dried without touching it (which I am terrible at) and this is what I ended up with:
http://s20.postimg.org/m9u1in5ax/IMG_2244.jpg (http://postimg.org/image/m9u1in5ax/)
I'm so excited! Been really struggling to figure out what to do with this length while I grow out a pixie, and pretty clueless about how to deal with hair that is wavy when it wants to be and straight when it doesn't. Yay!!!!!

That is *so* cute! :D

Today when I took a shower after laying sick in bed...

I noticed how pretty my blonde streak looks in my hair when it's wet and later in a braid. It's naturally there, and I used to hate it.
But honestly, I'm starting to like it especially how it looks in my tiny braid... :o

I just like the way this pic of my hair turned out today. It feels like it hasn't grown in forever, but I do think it will reach waist by the end of this year.

Mimha, thank you! Coming from you that means a lot, as I am in awe of your wave pattern and shine. My hair is actually not very soft at all, it's sort of wiry and I'm always surprised how soft other people's hair feels comparatively. But as long as no one touches mine they won't know it feels like untreated wool :silly:

And thank you, lithostoic!

Swan Maiden, that looks super cool, but my first thought was "how in the world is it staying put?" because my hair would never in a million years stay that way (too slippy).

Took down yesterday's Dutch braid and it was a little too oily for my liking, so I rebraided only to the nape. Really looking forward to when my hair matches that elastic.

Yesterday I trimmed a half inch from two sections of racer hairs. It was such a small amount of hair cut, but to me it made a big difference. :) It helped even my hemline a bit.
