In her albums she has a pic of her hair freshly washed and uncombed for typing.. That's where it comes from.

This one is probably a few days out from wash day and has been repeatedly bunned :flower:

Yup. I wash it every 7 days... all my length pics and also the posted pics are taken literaly right before I get in the shower on day 7. That one was particularly straight even for that type of pic, which is why it's such a rare good example of my hem :p I waited 2 wash cycles to get that pic and figure out if I did it straight. I stretch my hair out in buns and braids the whole week. At the beginning, before I comb it and stuff, its curly. I also use a LOT of conditioner on my hair- if I dont do that- or if I use an sls or clarifying shampoo- it gets even curlier. You should have seen it when it was short! The weight helps with the stretching, too. I try to stretch it out as much as possible because it is easier to deal with and comb :) And I think it looks neater. I totally get how it could be confusing though or look like I'm using the wrong hair type :p

Called it :)

I kind of figured because of the way your hem flips around. Not that it's bad at all, its just that mine does that too. I'm not a curly by any means, but my ends flip like little monsters no matter how straight my length has fallen.

I see. It´s pretty cool that you can get it to curl and at the same time get it straight like that! It´s like you have the best of both worlds. :)

I am pretty sure I am more F than M, at least when I do the "roll your hair between your fingers"-test I can not feel the hairs in front and on the sides of my hair. But it is true that I have a chunk of hair in the back that is coarser, more likely M-type. Should I change my settings to F/M in the sidebar? I want to blame the fact that the individual strands are visible due to the fact that I have a pretty fancy camera + lens. ;)

So I decided to stick some of my new hair toys from the winter swap in my pony-tail to see how they looked in my hair. They're not super good pictures because of the poor lighting in my room and it was taken with the "selfie camera" of a smart phone, and they're not really hairstyles more than me just ooing and awing over my new pretties, but I really do like how my new toys looked. I can't wait to grow in to them. THey were all so comfy in different ways, too. The antler fork just felt great, it does this curve thing that fits perfectly to my head. The antler tipped stick (second one) feels good because it also curves nicely, though it doesn't lay as flat to my head as the fork. The jeterfork was great because it felt solid with all those tines, and the moon stick felt comfy but also just plain looked cool.

veryhairyfairy - love love love! :) What a gorgeous hemline and the colour is so vibrant and beautiful!
irodaryne - that is such a great idea! I didn't know about hairtoys when my hair was too short to wear them anyway, but I suspect that would be an original and fantastic way of getting to wear them even if it isn't bunnable yet! Also, the hairtoys are gorgeous and go perfectly with your hair <3

I love the way they contrast with my hair! The lighter toys, especially. The Jeterfork will probably have really good contrast in the sunlight when my hair seems to glow.

If I can figure out a way to make a "bun" and get the hairtoy to look really nice, I'm going to start wearing them much more often. (they look a little odd sticking out of an obvious ponytail, which doesn't quite show in the pictures)

Yes, really, chain stitch. It eats length like crazy. The 77 in my current length is in inches, not cm. I think that's pretty ridiculous!

Agreed, missrandie & brickworld13! Chain stitch braid? I just checked and "chain" is the term used in both US and UK crochet, so that helps.

This was my first attempt at bandana curls! From early January. Trying to be more technologically adept... just managed to get them off the camera last night. I know they are large; I thought I had reduced them quite a bit from the original size, since I kept trimming them in order to be able to upload the images onto my profile, but apparently they are still huge. I am a newbie as far as how MB translate into pixels and what that actually shows up as on your screen. An added issue is that the Nikon is set up with the Mac and I grew up with PCs, so I fumble a lot with images.

Sounds good to me. Let's start a style thread about it and put your video in it.

Or she will stumble onto your YouTube channel and meet the infamous toilet brush kitty.

Not familar with the toilet brush kitty, alas. But we do have three cats that drink from the toilet! :blueeek:

That's why, in this household, we keep the lid shut.

gossamer's videos frequently feature her kitty making a cameo appearance. I don't remember seeing it, but I suspect that Kitty was doing something with a toilet brush at some point.

At my mini-meet with TeaLady and DaveDecker back in May, DaveDecker suggested that I try imitating that image. The pic didn't totally come out so I tried imitating it again myself later. I don't think it's BrendaLoan's original illustration, but if it is, I hope she doesn't mind me trying it out.

Gotta admit. It took me a while to put all the pieces together (I'm kind of slow that way). So there really is a connection. Good to know.

Thanks! :flower: It is interesting about the color; since I am not used to seeing the length behind me, in my head the color is a much darker, flat brown. Perhaps the oils I started using thanks to LHC have brought out some shine and depth!

Beautiful! Ad congrats :)

Here's my hair! It keeps getting longer :D

Woah all that volume! Beautiful :)!

Anyways, I think the bandana curls turned out pretty good! Very excited to have a heat-free method.

That turned out gorgeous :inlove:! Love your hair-colour, too!

Thank you guys! The fork is made from polymer clay (Sculpey brand) I shaped it how I wanted it then just painted it with nail polish and covered it in a thick glaze to give it a real nice shine. I've made a lot of them since this :)

So DH was in the shower this morning and I was waiting for him to get out so I could get in and wash my hair. I had just taken my sleep cap off and was looking at LHC while I was waiting. DH came into the room, said "Your hair looks really pretty, would you like me to take a photo of it?" I said "But I haven't combed or brushed it, even", but he said "Don't move, or you will change the way it looks" and took my camera and took a photo. Even though he has a phobia about taking photos and totally loathes doing it. So here's my photo from this morning of bed head, needs-washing hair. Excuse the nightie, I'm not even dressed....

Lucky you! When mine was at a similar length, it felt like it didn't grow at all! http://www.felipesv.com/forum/k_chorandoNovo.gif

Haha. I didn't know there weren't a lot of people with long hair in Brazil. There definitely are a lot in Argentina relatively speaking. There was always at least one or two others with long hair in my classes growing up. It's king of fun to be more unique here in the US with long hair though.

Okay, here we go. First length comparison in a little over 4 months. Damp in the first one, slightly damp and brushed in the second one. The swoops steal my visual length!

That is pretty awesome growth, for... a little over 4 months? That's a lot! Good going. :D Yay. :cheer:

This is my hair down and unbraided; figured I'd take this picture for the sake of completeness, just because.

Been growing back out from a short hair cut a couple year ago after growing up with long hair.

Lucas, let me tell you something from the part of a lady who is not so fond of long hair on men, but has to admit that you happen to have DREAM HAIR : I absolutely love your hair color (argh, this amaaaazing shiny black, with flames of dark brown it it ! :thud:) and texture (just the perfect waviness, getting curlier at the end !!).

Yes, it would be a pity not to let this wonderful hair potential express !

 Looking forward to admiring your hair evolution in the next coming months !! :)

Finally got round to doing a comparison photo. I have a long way to go, but there's a bit of growth there.

Top: 29/08/15, directly after my last cut
Bottom: 06/02/16.

End of this month will be 6 months of no heat styling, so I might dry it straight as a one off to compare properly.

The color distribution in your hair is totally out of this world, Cristawni ! It's hardly possible to figure out a more perfect distribution of the nuances : look at this lovely creamy underlayer and this tawny top layer softly merging into an amaaaaazing furry mane !! :thudpile:

Friday evening was a frizzy hair day 2, and I had my hair loose flying all day. I got some rain on it when I went home, and I was amazed to see how gigantic it looked with my winter padded jacket, considering that I am only at waist ! So yeah... I was quite pleased ! :p

Then I combed it and braided it, and was even more amazed to see that my poofy frizzy mane turned into an almost sleek shiny rope !

Lol, so we are two !^^ It's my second year on the LHC and I still have so much to learn about bunning and braiding. I can do 2 sorts of braids only and hardly 4 different buns. Your Mom did a great job anyway : crown braiding is the top of the art ! :D
