I did a thing and dyed my hair with overtone. After 4 years of going all natural I couldn't resist!

Was able to finally use a chopstick to tie up my hair. A lot for comfortable than I hair tie to get all my hair of my neck. Felt a bit odd at first since don't see many men using chop sticks to tie up their hair

Looks like I'm regaining a little bit of thickness at my nape (the whole thing tapers off dramatically after shoulder, evidence of my big shed last year) :D

I've been experimenting with color over henndigo black (I have a whole thread dedicated to this madness) and I was particularly proud of this picture. My hair is still black but now it gets colorful in the sun. Sometimes. Definitely not always. :lol:

That's so neat to get different tones in the sun and the shine is wonderful.

I wore them all day (8+ hours, probably more like 10-12) without pain. I twisted them a bit before tying them in a knot, then secured each with an amish pin or two. They felt fairly light and I don't remember it hurting. It probably helps that my hair isn't overly thick.

Oh believe me... I often do haha but nowadays I've learned how to work with it and bought some good tools, and using silicone oils always helps. I don't really wear pants to be honest so that's hard for me, but I do often check on my mirror when I'm just wearing underwear. think this way at least I can measure the distance of my hair to the seat, so it'll be easier to see any progress. Thank you as always dear! :flower:

It feels a lot healthier now, even though it wasn't truly damaged to begin with. It just is starting to be less frizzy. Oh - and the fluff of brown in the lower right corner. . . that's my ragdoll cat. :-D

Haha indeed! :P so far I've experimented with a few different ways of using it, and it tends to hold best in tightly twisted styles rather than wrapped ones. That being said, it held this braided bun no problem for around 8 hours today (although I spent most of that time at my desk, so I don't know how it would hold up to vigorous movement!).

I did an oil treatment in the first time in forever, and it felt like it made a big difference, my hair feels so much smoother now, and I think my ends are relatively okay considering that it's been > 9 months since I last trimmed (sometime in August last year). I will probably trim again in the next few months though.

Aww you're so sweet! Thank you!! It's about maybe 2-3 inches above hip length at the longest point, but my hair was cut into a U shape last October so it's still growing out from that. I'm aiming for all of my hair to be hip length because I had bangs/fringe for years as a child, and then due to trichotillomania my hair is shorter in the front so I want all of my hair to be the same length eventually. Although now that my hair is practically hip length at the longest point, I'm thinking I might want to go on to classic or maybe even longer.

My texture makes it almost impossible to see my "real" length without straightening but this time it's pretty close since I had just combed my hair. I notice my ends starting to thin out. I don't mind, I like fairytale ends. I'll need a trim at the end of summer though. :cool: This is second-day, poofy and unruly hair. Maybe next wash day I will blow dry straight and get a better shot.

Braid waves are so much fun. My niece was going to a wedding and had me braid her hair in dutch braids in five lines down the back of her head back to front. She worn them for two days so that the braid waves would be really good and then took them out. So pretty in her red hair.

Looks so soft and fluffy. I used to braid hair alot for my friends. Your hair would have had me begging to play with it and braid it. ( But not in a weird way.... Only braided for my friends:hmm:)

The wave pattern can be weaker on the side that you sleep on...
And updos that require twisting can also disturb the waves.
You are not using styling products if I remember right? or doing anything else to encourage your texture

Totally understand! :) Grew my perm & heat damage out to hip a number of years ago, and then cut all of the damage off back to BSL, it was a huge loss of length, but somehow it made me feel relieved.

I have been experimenting with my hair. I went out in public with milkmaid braids for the first time lol. Used so many bobby pins... I've nearly done everything under the sun now. Viking braid, double fishtail braids, fishtail braided ponytail, accent braid with French braid. I still have Emerald hair tint in my hair which I'm trying to fade out. I want to use Ruby Red hair tint next, if it mixed with the Emerald that would not turn out so nice!

I use a million bobby pins when I do milkmaid type braids. My trick is to do french braids first to give them something to grip on to.

Shepherdess, that is so pretty! I love air drying. Can't do it too too long (SD, seborrheic dermatitis), usually from around 11AM when I get finished with the wash on wash day to about 3/4PM or so. Long enough for me.

I also need a humongous amount of pins to stabilisce milkmaid braids. I don't understand how hair YouTubers can get away with only three or four pins :grnbiggri

Sometimes color B4 works on deposit dyes too! Maybe it can help if the emerald refuses to completely go.

Babassu oil is similar to coconut oil, but it's not as greasy. My hair likes it better than coconut oil.

I love the new bathroom mirror! It's just perfect for length shots (at least until BSL :grnbiggri).
I tried to mark BSL. It's not super precise, but every bra I own sits a bit differently.
I think we have six to twelve months to go.

So I finally used my Kiss Tintation in Ruby Red, I put it over a strand of my medium brown hair. It's supposed to make your hair a vibrant red but I ended up with a purpley pinky reddish colour :D

I always thought my hair was on the Blonde/brown spectrum because I definitely had blonde hair as a kid, and for a long while it seemed "golden" in sun light. Now I don't know if it's possible it's changed color in the last few years(I'm in my mid 20s and nothing major like pregnancy has happened to me) or if I'm seeing it differently but it definitely seems like it is leaning more on the auburn side now :confused:

Brown hair often has lots of red pigments! Pair it with a nice golden sunlight and voilà, instant hair color change.
