Sooo happy! I can start using my hair forks again!! Not for super pretty and crazy buns yet, but i can french twist like a son of a gun! I went from this: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8242/8454857844_428db44ef9.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/63128997@N06/8454857844/) 548929_4185147619776_119021883_n (http://www.flickr.com/photos/63128997@N06/8454857844/) by tatfreak15 (http://www.flickr.com/people/63128997@N06/), on Flickr

to being able to do this:

just makes me supremely happy. I know it doesn't look like much but the first cut was SOOOOOOO short in the back, in fact i needed to buy a new flat iron just to get that area because of how short it was, over the past 3 months i have been turning it into a one, length. I am finally there and can now just let it grow. Oh it is also no longer lop sided XD

Anybody else have success with forks, even in shorter hair?

That looks great. :) Your hair is beautiful and I love the fork.

I can also use hair forks and french twist combs. My hair almost shoulder length. I know it feels wonderful when you start to be able to use forks and stuff like that after long time of having shorter hair. :)

A few things:

1. That cut looks really good on you. But with long hair you will be even more beautiful.
2. I love that hair color. I used to dye mine an almost-black brown, and while it would shock me at first, I got a lot of compliments and loved it.
3. Imma steal your snake. It's so cute!

I really like that half up style, looks great with a fork. Also your hair is gorgeous, so shiny and the color is beautiful.

My hair is about the same length as yours, may have to purchase a fork so I can give this a try, thanks for the idea

Very cute! My hair is your length and I wear half ups like that too. I like using forks and also Flexi-8 clips.

Yay for half-ups!! :D

Nice fork! It looks cool in your hair.

This summer at a sort of medieval fair, I bought my first two hair forks. The seller put all my mother's not-yet-shoulder length hair up with one of them. That was when I decided to buy them. :D

I don't have any pictures on here of it but three months ago i had between waist and hip length hair. I started school at Paul Mitchell and they have a very strict dress code of no buns, braids, ponytails, or any of that jazz, so my hair can't look messy and pretty much has to be heat styled (my texture is pretty unruly when i don't tame it) and i never had to do that with long hair. I knew short hair would be super trendy and awesome so i just cut it all off and let myself grow into having to style it regularly instead of just putting it into a fishtail or french twist. Thanks for the color compliment, it is my natural color :) and the snake isn't actually mine, i wish it were. It is just a gorgeous picture of one of my favorite things in the world (snakes)

actually it's hematite

Oh yes, i love my mini flexi for holding two spiral strands or two braids going back and stuff, my hair is too thick for a legit half up but i still love my mini

Oh yeah, i have always known how to work a hair fork at any length, i used to put my hair up with pencils in class all the time. It was pretty annoying when one of my "friends" would walk up and pull the pencil out then be SOOOO surprised that it was the only thing holding it up and apologize for all that trouble haha. As for renfaires, i LOVE them so much, there is one in huntersville we went to this past fall, amazing!! We are going again this fall and i am going to get my hair braided there i think
