Split Ends

If you find a split end or two. Does this mean it's time for a trim? Or will cutting those off be enough?

S&D is what I would do in that situation, assuming you are happy with your ends and hemline otherwise.

Personally my ends damage rarely shows as actual splits.

A couple of splits should just be trimmed off themselves. It's probably that your hair got a little tangle right there and damaged those hairs, or something snagged those hairs. If the rest of your hair looks pretty good I see no reason to trim all the ends!

Amara, Yes, my ends all look good. I had a trim around July 1st. I was hoping to go awhile without a trim this time. I found the splits while I was combing my hair in the mirror. They were on the sides where I have layers growing out. I don't want to trim, so I'll do S&D like Arctic suggested.
