So last month my buddy Sam and I performed at this thing called Magfest (Music and Gaming Festival) which is where bands come to play music from video games... Yes there's actually a big following for this. Anyway since I'd been growing my hair for the past year I was debating what kind of hairstyle I should go with for the weekend and I finally decided to rock the White Guy Fro. And rock it I did!!

The cool thing about it was it made me instantly recognizable in a crowd which made it easy for my friends to find me and also made it so that people would often come up to me to tell me how much they enjoyed our show. Also it was great for when I was rocking out to some of the metal bands as I'm a bit of a head banger and I didn't have to worry about messing my hair up since its already as messed up as its gonna get. Also the feeling of whipping my hair around to loud rock music is AMAZING!! Now I remember why I wanted to have long hair again.

Well enough talk. On to the pictures! Sorry if they're really big. I didn't want to make them smaller and mess up the quality:

And heres how I looked last year performing at the same event (this was just before I decided to stop cutting my hair):

I wonder what my hair will be like when we play here next year...

Thanks you guys! I don't often go around with my hair like this but whenever I do I tend to get lots of weird looks and Bob Ross comments... I try not to let it bug me though. I'm enjoying seeing all the different things I can do with my hair now.

Also if anyone's interested in hearing our video game covers we have a youtube channel you can check out www.youtube.com/superguitarbros - its sort of a mix of classical/spanish/jazz/folk guitar.

I seem to remember these pictures being posted before. Hmm...

Are you sure that was me?? I'm pretty sure I haven't posted any pictures here before since it took me a minute to figure out how to do it this time... I don't have enough posts on here to look at my profile so I don't know if I can check my post history. Maybe you saw our facebook page?? https://www.facebook.com/SuperGuitarBros

Wow, another MAGfest'er on LHC? Who knew!? I was working graveyard in the Marketplace though, so I sadly didn't catch much of the concerts. Those are some great pictures, though. Love the hair.

Hah! I was wondering if there'd be any other Magfest people here... I was in sort of the opposite situation: I spent pretty much the entire weekend going from concert to concert so I really spend much time in the marketplace or the arcade room or anything.

Glad to see a fellow Magfest person on here though. That was seriously the best weekend ever! I can't wait for next year!

Just curious are you a member of The Shizz or OCRemix?? If so whats your name on there? My name is Aktulua though I really don't post that much at all.

If I wasn't working and fighting off Con Plague the whole weekend, I probably would have camped out at the concerts myself. DBF and I hadn't planned on working MAGfest, but a friend called us up a week before con and said he needed some trusted security to stalk the Marketplace at night. It was my first year, but it's definitely my favorite con now. I can't wait for next year.

Actually, this is my first time hearing of either of those forums, but I'll check them out.

Well its not as much about the forums as it is about the content.

OCRemix is a place where people submit remixes they've made of video game music. There's lots of different styles everything from electronic to rock to orchestral to jazz and all sorts of other stuff.
www.ocremix.org

The Shizz is a part of another website called Dwelling of Duels. They have monthly competitions where people submit remixes that have to fit within that month's theme. Also the rule is you have to use at least one live instrument (which works well for us playing acoustic guitars). The Shizz is the forum for DoD and I tend to post there more than OCR but not as much. They do have some interesting discussions there...

Many of the bands that play at Magfest come from either Dwelling of Duels or OCR or both. Next year I definitely recommend not volunteering and just taking the time to enjoy yourselves. There's so much to do there that even if you spend the entire time doing things you'll still end up missing a lot.

1. Awesome hair! You must get people asking you if they can touch it all the time though, haha~

2. I looked you guys up on YouTube and you seriously need to post more videos! You have a new fan though :D

Thanks Cania! We just recorded a new video the other night so after all the mixing is done we should be posting it up soon like in the next few weeks. Make sure to subscribe if you haven't already and it'll let you know automatically when the new video is up.

As for people wanting to touch it, it doesn't happen as often as you'd think. When it does though they usually don't ask, they just start touching it.

Your hair is amazing!

Thanks McFearless. Maybe I should start doing this style more often. Usually I make my hair more flat and straight-ish by letting it dry under a bandana or t-shirt. Or just by sleeping on it and flattening it on the pillow.
