wood or bamboo brush

I like it because it has smooth, tapered pins and no ball tips. It feels great on the scalp. Do these types of brushed help distribute oil and sebum? How should I clean it? Is there anything else I should know about using it? My hair type is 2b/c, F/M, iii and is TBL.

It looks like it would be nice on the scalp and the pins are a plus (less snags). I think it might distribute sebum. I'd clean it carefully pin down in a shallow basin of soapy water or baking soda solution, swishing/rubbing the pins. I'm actually liking it better than my other brushes, even the tangle tamer max. A bonus: no static.
