I just bought a bamboo brush. It is this one: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/en_US/images/ItemImages_SW/images_id/HDC010_id.jpg
I like it because it has smooth, tapered pins and no ball tips. It feels great on the scalp. Do these types of brushed help distribute oil and sebum? How should I clean it? Is there anything else I should know about using it? My hair type is 2b/c, F/M, iii and is TBL.

My hair type is 2b/c, F/M, iii and is TBL. I'm planning on buying a brush like this. I might get the S-shaped one or rectangular one. It looks like it would be nice on the scalp and the pins are a plus (less snags). I think it might distribute sebum. I'd clean it carefully pin down in a shallow basin of soapy water or baking soda solution, swishing/rubbing the pins. Another member mentioned the brush you were considering in this thread: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=109559&page=2 This thread mentions a similar brush: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=99184

I'm actually liking it better than my other brushes, even the tangle tamer max. A bonus: no static.
