I love Manic Panic Vampire Red but I'm wanting to try something new. Does anyone have any pictures of the following colors done on their brown unbleached hair?

- Electric Amethyst
- Enchanted Forest
- Fuschia Shock
- Hot Hot Pink
- Lie Locks
- Mystic Heather
- New Rose
- Purple Haze
- Red Passion
- Ultra Violet
- Rockabilly Blue
- Wildfire

Also, I've never used anything from their Amplified line. Any thoughts? Has anyone seen a difference using it from their regular line? Also, how long did the color last?

I had tried Purple Haze and it was gone after two washes, sadly. I can look for a picture if you'd like, but I do think my hair isn't as dark as yours. :(

I have naturally light brown, almost blonde hair with a hint of red in it. I didn't like Purple Haze as much as others I've tried, but this is how it came out:

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures of my hair in particular because I didn't like it all that much and didn't feel the need to take a picture ;)

I would be interested to see pics, is it right that its a vegetable dye?? as i seem to be allergic to box dyes i wonder what color mine would go if i chose there ruby red?? also henna makes my hair to soft what are your experiences with this??

I've used Hot Hot Pink & Red Passion with excellent success. My avatar shows how intense is it. I did have highlights, so the really bright streaks are those. I would leave the MP in for like 8-10 hours & it was always amazing.

I used Rockabilly Blue a few months back, over henna (I wanted something exciting & different - oh yes, I sure got that!!) What a nightmare!! I suggest NEVER using it unless you plan to be locked away in your home for a week. It barely did a thing to my hair, though it had a neat metallic purple color going on for a bit (only really noticeable at the ends.) However, it completely stained my sink, floor, bathtub, and every single inch of flesh that it touched. I seriously looked like a zebra when I got out of the shower - i had blue streaks down my face from rinse water & they would NOT come off. My entire body was stained blue for at least a week. Very embarrassing - because I had to go to work. I had to take pure acetone to my face to get it to a point where it was presentable - i was seriously stained blue!! LOL It was so bad that I left blue foot prints on the bathroom floor after I got out of the shower & had scrubbed my skin to within an inch of it's life. And perhaps TMI - but funny - I left a blue ass print on the white toilet seat at work. The dye was so bad, it just stained every thing that it touched, and if it was on my skin, it still stained everything I touched. Every time I washed my hair I would have blue streaks/stains on everything in sight (and all of my skin.) It was so bad I just started shampooing the heck out of my hair, just to get the blue out as fast as possible. So, no, I do not ever recommend using Rockabilly Blue. LOL

Well...I tried to get a good pic of my utra violet....no go...camera and lighting just won't work right.

Just as a reference, the ultra violet turned out to be a denim blue color over my brown... Not what I wanted....

At least I had the one pic for you! Good luck in your search!

It was not manic panic but crazy color's cyclamen but i thought i'd share anyway, it gives a good idea on how a dark pink shows :)

Ahhh, I hate these threads! (not really) Every time I go through and see all these awesome, rich colors.....I start wanting to do this to my hair!! I LOVE the deep, burgundys. *sigh*
That or I'm tempted to dip dye my ends purple....I'm just terrified of the color not fading and washing out of my natural hair. =/ After spending 4 years getting rid of dye and dye damage and embracing my natural hair, I love it. But I also kinda miss my crazy color days at the same time and want some fun!

Beautiful pics everyone.

AspenSong, that's specifically why I've been playing with Manic Panic. I finally got all my old dye and bleach damage grown out, so I don't want to use chemical dyes again. But I've never had one problem with the Manic Panic screwing up my hair. It always comes out completely, and I'm back to my normal virgin color. Even my few sparklies return to normal.

Really? See, that's what I'm a bit scared of. I know everyones hair is different, but I've had a few people tell me the color never really washed out on them. =/ So I've been a bit worried with that! I do know that I always hear how soft and great their hair feels afterwards though, so I'm not too worried there! But I just don't know how much I want my ends to have a purple or red tint until I could cut them since I have no intention of doing that since I'm finally almost to classic.

I THINK this is ultra violet. I used it on my natural medium ashy brown roots back in 2011. The brightness lasted for a couple weeks as expected, but permanently stained my hair a reddish tint. It was cool but I'll never do it again. Too messy for me!

The best thing is to do a test strand. It is using your own hair so you see the results specific for you. I used manic panic purple haze on virgin dark brown (pretty much black) hair and it completely washed out in a matter of weeks. Here is a picture when it was its most saturated. I'm amazed at the good results a few of you had with the purples. I've tried several different purples & you cannot even see them whatsoever in my hair. And my hair isn't really that dark. Reds & deep pinks, though, show up amazingly well. I also noticed the purples seems to bleed/rub off a lot more. Although you couldn't see any hint of purple in my hair, anytime I'd run my hands through it, they'd end up purple - especially if i had nail polish on - stained purple nail polish. I never had that issue with the reds & pinks. It's weird. The time i did blue, you couldn't see that whatsoever either, though my scalp glowed blue - bright enough to blind you. LOL

I've one more Q if anyone else checks in on this thread (as I'm usually a Thread Killer...haha) - What about henna and cassia over manic panic? Would that seal any stain left on your hair in "for good"? And likewise, if I did my henna/cassia conditioning mix that I do every 5 months or so, and THEN did some Manic Panic, would it be less likely to soak in to a point it would be harder to wash out? Just curious!

i've done henna/cassia over manic panic & it seems like the manic panic just disappeared. I cannot see any manic panic left in my hair, just looks like the henna color.
And i've done manic panic over henna with lovely results (well, only if using reds/pinks as they work best for me.)

Beautiful pics everyone.

I know, me too. I'd love to go an awesome color, but I probably won't want it forever... nor to spend YEARS with two-tone hair as it grows out. Especially since my hair's just light-brown, so even unbleached it would be very vibrant and probably hang on a lot. (I'm not even brave enough to henna it, lest I change my mind about wanting the color some day.)

I never had succes with Manic Panic pinks or purples in my unbleached (darkish brown) hair. I had henna in it .... Nothing showed
That said the pinks didn't really show after I bleached either, it gave me brownish orange hair, a bit like henna on dark blond hair. Stargazer uv pink is what I have now and that shows really great on the bleached part and vaguely on my own colour.

The manic Panic pink didn't show in my hair either. I think different colors are stronger than others. I've heard vampire red stays longer and I can vouch for that.

I'm buying some Vampire Red (the amplified version) to try out on my hair which is very hennaed! As I'm growing out the henna I thought I may try some different things to keep the roots looking a little less ordinary ;). Because I'm going to be in a play in 3 weeks, I thought I'd do it before then (to hide those roots hehe)... and yes the colour will be totally fine for the play because I'm supposed to look all colourful and 80s!!

fpr the fun of it : the pink is on bleached hair but you can see a bit of a 'shine' on the unprocessed hair above as well. It isn't completely virgin (henna and highlights if I remember correctly) but you get the idea. The pink is the stargazer UV Pink

Thank you AspenSong :) To be honest, I wanted a dip dye so long but I kept putting it off because I didn't want to cut (it is always close to a milestone or other LOL) But then my ends were looking not to good so instead of cutting I bleached and coloured, that way if I don't like it anymore or my ends go really really wonky it is hair that was marked for the scissors anyway ;-)
If not I think I might colour all my hair this colour .... I absolutely love it

I used Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink and a blue one....I forget which. The red one came out dark pink on my hair (natural colour in my avatar) and the blue came out....blue. I really loved it, it probably re-dyed it every week and a half to keep the colour looking bright.

When it came to growing it out though, it took at lest 4 months for the pink to fade, and the blue is still in my hair NINE MONTHS LATER! It's now a sea green shade, but thankfully only in one streak of hair

I don't know yet.... its my first time using this color. Depends on how often you wash it, what shampoo you use, and if you rinse with hot or cold water.

For redsiren, depends on your length and thickness. 1 whole jar covered my hair.

I Just wanted to bump this thread up and see if anyone has any pictures of manic panic!

I was thinking of doing one of the red colors over my hennaed hair. I like the natural copper color it is now but would like the option to vamp it up a notch. Something like this:
http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/b7/ba/a2/b7baa21cacb9ae2d3a3c79a0d6396199.jpg

Has anyone used any of the warmer reds? I'm not interested in vampire red or the cooler tones because they would make me look ill! :p

You should check out this site (http://www.hairdyegallery.co.uk/Gallery-brand.html)- it has an amazing collection of dip dyed hair.

I don't know if I should look at this. I may be tempted into something..

I have purpley/ blue but over bleached hair. It is fading to grey which is the intention. Just a streak at front now and a few around hairline at back and sides where I was testing bleach and colour combos out.

Does manic panic make "natural" hair colors? You know like blonde, brunette etc., - not brights.
I've been trying to find
out but haven't been able to find any info on this. it would be a good if they did, for those of us looking for less harmful types of natural color hair dyes.
Thx, if anyone knows

Nope dont think so... Manic oanic is the unnatural colors thing... Most if not all of the natural colors for some reason have to be many many times more damaging to hair than green blue and purple

sorry about the double post, but i had wanted to include this link to beeunique's unbleached hair gallery (http://www.hairdyegallery.co.uk/unbleachedpage1.html), and mention that manic panic used to carry a few natural colors, like "cobra" and "nefertiti," but i think they're discontinued.

I had, until very recently, half of my hair dip-dyed with Hot Hot Pink. My hair was lighter than my natural tone, thought, but not much, just a very light brownish blonde.

Sooooo tempted to try this on the ends of my hair. I think I could probably hide the evidence that way for work!

I did my hair last year with Ultra Violet. My hair was virgin back then - a medium brown color. The first picture in my siggy is a good reference. I left it on a couple of hours if I remember correctly.
