If you've got a deep treatment on your hair (example: an SMT or similar) covered in a plastic cap with a turbie twist on top will the heat from your head keep it warm enough? I have to put a turbie on top because the plastic caps avalanche off my head. I've sat with the heating pad on my head before but that was sort of uncomfortable (but toasty). Suggestions?

This works really well http://www.sallybeauty.com/Conditioning-Cap/SBS-543908,default,pd.html?cm_vc=SEARCH

I've got an oversize angora hat (raised the rabbits, harvested the wool, spun it, crocheted the hat myself) that I plop over the shower cap; keeps my head nice and toasty.

I give my head a blast with the hairdryer every 5-10 minutes.

I was thinking about getting that! I'm going to Sally's tomorrow! :)

I think that conditioning cap would be my best bet. I also tried putting the turbie twist in the dryer before I put it on. That worked out OK too but requires slightly more planning.

I put an old plastic shopping bag over my head and twist it so it stays firm then wrap a towel over it - if it's winter I put the towel in the dryer first to warm it up - so glamorous!

Exercise! :cheese: It raises your body temp and your head will be steamy. :)

I just bought a heat cap so hopefully thatll make the DTs penetrate my hair better. I was doing the plastic with a beanie and then a scarf but it would only keep it body heat warm and I want it like at the salon so I got this heating cap. Cost 30 bucks but hopefully its worth for my hair.

I use this. http://www.curlmart.com/product/thermal-turban-heat-wrap/

You pop this in the microwave for a minute and the gel pads inside keep your head warm for a long time.
