So on Saturday, my family and I went to Dicken's Faire. The day before I had heard of, for the first time, a Hawser braid. Curious, I looked it up and watched Torrin's tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y3LvWpncQQ). It looks really cool and complicated, but sounded easy to do, so I gave it a try for Dicken's faire. And I'm glad I did! Because not only was it cool-looking and easy to do, but I got a TON of compliments! From random strangers throughout the faire, and from my family and boyfriend. I'm not sure I've ever gotten so many positive comments on my hair in a short period of time. :)
Pictures, of course:

Yay! I saw one of these pictures on the holiday dos thread and I was hoping you'd post a bigger version somewhere. I love how you wrapped the tassel around the end of your braid.

I love a Hawser! My own are a little awkward and bulky thanks to my length/thickness combo, but good grief yours is just slobberworthy! Cannot wait til mine look a little like this! <3

:rollin: I'll have to steal this word off you. It's too good not to use more frequently.

I tried it on my daughter's hair and worked out really well! It looks like a many-stranded braid but is so easy to do.

Oo, I bet it would look lovely on her hair. :)
I think that's what I now love about it. I can't seem to manage a four strand braid, but this looks like a four strand braid - since it kinda is, two two-strands - but is a million times easier.
Thanks everyone else for the compliments. It means a lot. :)
