I've been seeking these sparkling snowflake pins (think Geraldine Chaplin's hair at the Christmas Party in "Dr. Zhivago!") forever. I found some really cheap ones that proceded to tear out my hair. Not what I had in mind....

Anyone know where such a treasure can be found - without a second mortgage on the house?!

Thanks for any assistance!

Peggy E. (Who envisions sparkling snowflakes in her hair - and is delusional.....)

sounds lovely, now i'll have to go google since I don't remember what these looked like. Incidentally, I know these are more flower than snowflake, but I have a few & they are really pretty especally for only $8. Incidentally I hope the link is all right to include. I thought they might tide you over while your search continues. Good luck!

http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/snowflakes-hand-tatted-hair-pins-with-austrian-crystal <--- they look to have been made out of thread and bobby pins. At least its hair friendly.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/tilleyjewels/search?search_query=snowflake&order=date_desc&view_type=gallery&ref=shop_search <-- actual snowflakes, again, bobby pins but definitely hair friendly.

http://www.portlandstreasurechest.com/inc/sdetail/4461/4518 <-- not to sure about this one. It has jewel settings... my hair always gets caught on those. I noticed globbing some heavy topcoat like gellish works magnificent on these.

http://www.lolaandi.com/wedding-jewellery/snowflake-hairpin <-- seems very promising, but yowza, $25 for a single pin?!

Maybe something like Ravenslair decorated Amish pins or forks? She doesn't have any sparkling snowflakes on her store right now, but she does do customs and her prices are reasonable... something like this http://www.etsy.com/transaction/60992198 or this http://www.etsy.com/transaction/38168707 or this http://www.etsy.com/transaction/47159131?

Thanks for the link. I never think to look for anything but books or music at Amazon!

What I ended up doing was purchasing a brooch and converting it to a prong - beautiful!

YOWZA is right! What is it about the "wedding" designation that gives sellers license to steal?!

Thank you for looking these up. The top one is actually tatted - which I do and hadn't even considered! I have lots of snowflake tatting patterns I should go through and see what I can do with them.

You've got that right! Why is the shipping from Canada become so slow?

The second snowflake is very nice and even the price is not too outrageous! Thanks for finding these!

Because Canada Post is almost bankrupt...true story.
