View Full Version : At what point does length get in the way of "playtime"

Ok. I'm not trying to ne funny. Although I can foresee that happening real fast.. LOL. My growth goal in my mind has been classic. I was reading another thread just now about the pros and cons of classic length. Someone commented that at that length it sometimes gets in more "intimate" areas in the shower. That got me thinking. At what length does it start to get in the way of intimate "play" with your significant other? And once you get there how do you manage?

Anything past waist gets in the way for me :p but im shall we say enthusiastic ;) lol. Since my hair has been past waist for a long time im used to keeping it out of the way. Only new problem ive encountered is that classic does have a way of getting caught under knees and that does hurt a bit. But since ive kept it out of the way at othr lengths its not much more of a bother doing it at classic. I tend to tie it in a loose knot its easy to redo ina hurry and takes up enough length

Mine does right now at times. I usually just try to scrunchie or clip it up and if the playtime is spontaneous we just work around it or sometimes enjoy being pinned. my length is a little past waist for the V cut I have.

Definitely keep a flexi 8, hair sticks, or a goody metal free barrette on the nightstand.
You will be able to put it up quickly (if messily) while he and or she prepares their protection or simply gets comfortable.

Never. Just put it up or braid it or keep it out of the way.
There have been lots of threads on this, but I will admit they are a bit trickier to search for.

It bothers me now and I'm only APL, but it's not really in the way, I just hate having it get tangled if I leave it down. DH laughs at me cause I always try to have my satin pillow nearby so I can lay on that! Less tangles!! :)

Yea mines APL and I always start out with it tied up. But I'm a little enthusiastic, too. It's always a hot mess after. LOL

With two people past knee, well, I wouldn't say it gets in the way (at least not more than briefly), more it is just a minor thing to adjust or deal with.

Personally, my braid or bun is a lot more likely to get in the way when sleeping. I find the elastic on the end of my braid really pokey if it gets caught under me. A single braid is BSL on me, and twin braids are almost elbow length. I tend to keep my braids over one shoulder or the other, and that minimizes the poking.
For other activities, a partner who pays attention may well keep closer track of your hair than you do. Talk about it, and chances are pretty good you can work something out to avoid really silly looking contortionist acts.

I am not sure at what length I recall specifically it becoming an issue. Maybe hip? But as soon as it started getting in the way I just "use it" as part of the fun instead. What man doesn't want to be wrapped in silky hair?

To be honest I have had to braid or high bun since before BSL. I find it really off putting if my hair is getting caught, pulled or the back is being rubbed on the pillow :o

I use mine in the fun. It only becomes a problem if my partner gets overzealous and pulls too much.

Ditto. In a braid it's quite easy to keep out the way or for them to grab, and the tangles are minimal which is a nice bonus.

I guess it depends on how you like your playtime, so to speak. I found that mine was really annoying at around midback or waist because I'm often on top leaning over him and it would fall in his face. Now that it's hip, though, it falls forward and I can put it off to the side and it stays put. I assume this arrangement will last indefinitely. Or I can put it up, if I need to, and I often do.

A friend of mine says if she ever writes a sex manual it will be called "Ouch, You're on My Hair." So true! Long hair can become a part of things though, not a hindrance to them.

Omg that's too funny! Also love the comments about "using it for playtime". You guys are too awsome. I love you. LOL. Yea, I find that even at APL it sometimes catches under my shoulders if I'm not careful. And the on top, in my face? Been there. That's why I normally put it up before play. That being said though my husband and I are very enthusiastic and I just got to thinking how awkward will this be once I get to a point where my hair is super long / heavy. I have never had hair much longer than BSL. The longest ever was maybe an inch below and I was 12 at the time so playtime wasn't an issue. That same year I shaved my head and all threw my teens and early 20's it was short. 13 to 18 boy cut short. 18 to 23 never longer than shoulder as I recall. 23 to now I did have it about BSL once but had a scissor happy stylest take it off to a mullet esk shag. That was 9 months ago. But I digress.
For me anything much past BSL is going to be new territory for me. So I'm all doe eyed and green to the world of long hair at least by LHC standards.

Mine has to be in a high bun or braid. Anything else is uncomfortable for me. Haha.

I leave mine down most of the time. Sure it gets pinned or pulled.
But it is worth it when I "tent" my partner. Just the wide eyes and dropped jaw make the pulls and tugs worth it. Sooooooo worth it.

Haha, mine gets really knotty.
It also, especially if straight, gets in the way when I'm giving him oral, or if I'm on top. Gets really annoying, so I sometimes tie it up. He likes it down, though, as do I.

Mine is only BSL and it gets in my mouth and drives me crazy, so I try really hard to remember a scrunchie.

Lol! The longest my hair has ever been is a few inches past BSL and shrinkage actually became useful! Outside of a few times when I straightened it (and when I did, it was in a bun), my hair has never been a problem in the bedroom.

I wish my hair was long enough to get in the way hah...It would totally make things more sensual I think. I dont know.. My bf and I both think long hair is sort of "sexy"

Me neither, as I must say it's never gotten in the way of anything, though admittedly I have been waist-length at most (though been in situations where the other person has had hair longer than that (male person, just to avoid misunderstandings ;))...
But considering how many threads there have been here about this very same thing (I remember at least 5-6), it either *is* a serious problem, or then people here are simply obsessed by this topic ;)

I think mbl and onwards became annoying. In mouth, falling in face when you go to kiss, catching under armpits, pinning you down when you lie on your back, yanking your neck with any quick movements and so on. Then there's the tangles afterwards. My fiance wouldn't have the patience to wait for me to tie it up out of the way. I may start wearing more updo's around the house when we move in together, so i guess it'll already be up. Also I'm hoping, like another poster said, that when it gets longer it'll be weighed down and long enough to stay behind my back.

You could try to make it part of the 'game'. I don't know like stripping then putting your hair up...though that seems backwards doesn't it? My husband patiently waits for me to put mine up or braid it quickly but I think he likes to watch me play with my hair.

Yeah, I wouldn't say so. Especially in the case of oral. Having to pull hairs out of my mouth every 5 seconds ain't fun :p
