I am thinking about joining the gym at work because it has a pool. My hair is so um..."receptive" that if you even look at it, it will absorb your gaze. Any suggestions on how to keep the chlorine damage to a minimum? At 30", do I have too much hair for a cap?

A bubble cap can accommodate long hair. You may want to try double-capping or using a swim band and cap if the inner cap cannot hold your hair. See this site for information on double-capping and swim bands (scroll to the bottom for the swim band link): http://www.geocities.com/lapswimr/teamswimcaps.html

Let me recommend Anje's excellent article on Swimming and Hair (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=42). I hope you enjoy your time in the pool!

Thanks, Tomm, for that link. Good article indeed. It's a good thing I'm not concerned about looking dorky! :)
