View Full Version : Finally found my routine!

After being on this site for almost 2 years, I have finally found my routine! (took long enough :P). I figured out that my hair doesn't like cones. I have to S&C with sulfate free and cone free for my hair to be nearly split free. When I use cones my hair splits like crazy! Coconut oil is my new best friend too. I use it as my pre-poo treatment and I use it as my leave in after I shower. I wash my hair about every other day, which is better than my previous, sometimes twice, daily washings. :p Since I wasn't able to post during the LHC-less-ness, I also got past BSL. I'm now about 2 inches from waist! (which is my ultimate goal). I'm so glad I found this site! I would never have gotten this far without all of you wonderful hair people!

Congrats on your length~ Your routine sounds a lot like mine (my hair is shorter). Would not have had any growth without my coconut oil! Now, I like to add a shmeer to my shampoo (if I use shampoo at all?), add a shmeer to my condition, and use it as a styling cream.

What great news! What SLS-free shampoo are u using? I'm currently on the hunt for one.

I use Yes to Carrots Nourishing Shampoo. I had the conditioner as well but I didn't find it as moisturizing as I needed it to be. I think that YTC recently reformulated and I have an old bottle so it might have changed. I haven't found any really good SLS free shampoos that are a decent price but YTC is pretty good.

I will definitely post pictures once my hair is dry. I just showers and now my hair smells like cherries!
