Hi everyone! It's been a while. But I have a quick question. Sometimes, when I'm S&D'ing my hair, I'll find these weird splits. They're usually near my ends but not quite, and there is definitely a visible split there, but the very end is still sealed. I thought at first they were just normal splits and the ends had just gotten stuck together, but I'm positive that that isn't the case now. I've never heard of or seen anything like that before, and I was wondering if any of you guys had experienced this with your hair.

Look at this (http://www.google.be/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1185&bih=591&tbm=isch&tbnid=5RGPozZwfZcgVM:&imgrefurl=http://www.diaryofahairobsession.com/%3Fp%3D2828&docid=KKGWZ90ZPwBd3M&imgurl=http://www.diaryofahairobsession.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/my_split_ends.png&w=645&h=479&ei=AJqvUP7wNM3M0AX50IHYDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=394&vpy=150&dur=2311&hovh=193&hovw=261&tx=126&ty=106&sig=117723636939569330199&page=1&tbnh=135&tbnw=183&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0,i:90), at the "incomplete split" and things might become a little clearer.

Yes, your hair will split..any place, not just the ends. Just snip off above the split.

Saddly, it's not the split resealing itself, but rather a new split not completely separated yet.

I get these all the time. It makes S&Ding a bit of a pain, since I have to inspect all of my hair and not just the ends.

Yes even I had encountered these from time to time. They are first stages of split ends. You should cut it before it gets worse.

I used to get these too. For that reason any time I S & D I always inspect the entire length of the hair shaft, not just the ends.

I get these a lot. It's good to know what they are now!
