Well it was my anniversary last month (13th October), so I'm getting around to posting this month :P
My hair was shaved off 9 years ago when I was 12, so I have always wanted to grow my hair long, but being an insecure teenager whose friends used to peer pressure into doing everything wrong with my hair, I thought I could both grow it long whilst doing everything wrong under the sun to look 'fashionable'. When I first joined 2 years ago, when I was 19, my hair was frayed, bleached, permed, permanently straightened, dyed, and every two weeks after a trim, every hair would be in split ends. (and all those things were done within 6 months of each other when I was 17-18).

After a sort of bet with myself, I was initially trying to trim out the damage, and my hair was slowly becoming healthier but length growth was absolutely minimal. Thankfully I learnt a lot about taking care of my hair from members of the LHC and I've found that natural works for my hair much better than anything else, my hair just isn't as resilient as some to heat and chemicals.

Eventually, when I lost the 'bet' with myself, I braved cutting all the length off that was damaged and so by my first Anniversary it was significantly shorter, but man was it healthier, all my natural hair colour, and I was in a much better position to enjoy all the different stages of hair growth and every mini accomplishment has been that much better because I started from scratch.
So now this year, for my second anniversary, I'm actually back to the length that I started from when I first joined LHC. But it's been worth it and so from now on, my anniversaries should be showing longer, as well as healthy, hair :)

So there's my hair story in a nutshell, and hopefully next year I'll be able to show off a mid-back length (when I say that, if my hair stretches to waist, it would jump up to midback. I love my wavy-curly-depending-on-its-mood hair but even if it's brushed down, it still jumps up and 'eats' the length something shocking).
