I got really depressed back in January when I cut my hair back to shoulder length to get rid of split/damaged ends... then the board went down when I tried to come back.

I miss someone telling me I am not too old for long hair (like my mother and my husband both do.)

gboneske, I don't think anyone is too old for long hair. To me it's more thickness and not age that determines if long hair looks good on someone. Personally i preferred it when my mom had longer hair, but she feels long hair doesn't look good on her when it's thin and so I ended up leaving it at that, unfortunately for me.

My grandmother had classic length hair until the day she died - if she can, I can, and you can certainly have hair as long as you want too! Why should we all look the same?

You grow it and enjoy it! Think of all those lovely styles too!
There's no way you can do zillions of styles with short hair!

I also just cut to shoulder from very close to waist. I missed it here so much! So so so glad LHC is back up! I have committed to grow to classic (45") I am currently at 19" and if I did not trim (and I will) I would be at classic in Feb. of 2017....so with trims I'm looking at the beginning of 2018 to get to my goal.....gahhh 6 years is a long time to wait...but I'm going to enjoy the journey and by the time I get there I'll be in my mid 30's and I plan on having long hair for the rest of my life. There is no "too old" it's your hair and you should wear it the way that makes you happy!
