I need help with these two updos, and decided that I'd consolodate into one thread.

Scrunchie bun - Apparently, I fail at using the search feature. Can anyone point me to some instructions?

Infinity bun - As I understand it, this is just a sideways figure 8. Right?

I have more than enough hair for a regular figure 8 - I have almost an inch sticking out from the end. However, whenever I try infinities, they don't seem to hold, as if I don't have enough hair to make the loops. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, I always end up with the left-hand loop at the centre of my head and the right-hand loop just behind my right ear. How do I correct this.

And finally, whenever I try to secure it, it ends up flopping so it's diagonal (which hurts!). How can I stop this from happening?

I think scrunchie bun is just a quick bun fastened with scrunchie. But I might be wrong :run:

Here is a really great YouTube link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4IZjosmZg4) to Kupferzopf's non-verbal instruction to doing an infinity bun. Just follow along, and you'll be fine.

I make a scrunchie bun by just making a regular bun and wrapping it with a scrunchie. It works best with a stacked (beebutt) bun. A beebutt bun is the bun you use to make a figure 8 before you flip one part up or down.

Good luck. :flowers:

Check out LeaM07's blog. It shows the scrunchie bun. Her instructions and pics are very detailed.
