Alright so I should probably have posted this in one of the curly thread but...I didn't. Here goes, today in Ulta I ended up buying a bottle of Deva curl ultra defining gel, it looked good, I am finally out of some of my gel stash (although I had crappy hair for two weeks trying to make it work) and although it was ridiculously expensive, I am willing to give it a chance. So, how do I use this stuff without globbing it on? How do I stop from getting the dreaded overcruchyness, has anyone used this product with sucess? If so, how? Thanks guys :).

According to Massey's book (Deva creator) you are supposed to get crunchiness to protect the curl while it dries. After it's dry you are supposed to srunch it out using the same method as you did applying the gel. For this part to get rid of the crunchiness as I scrunch I like to use a couple of drops of oil or a butter.

Let me know if this helps.
