Um, does anybody else think that this (http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-Ficcare-Ficcarissimo-3-Crystal-Hair-Clip-34-00_W0QQitemZ370077655487QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item37 0077655487&_trkparms=72%3A1076%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) clip is NOT a Ficcare ficcarissimo?

I just reported them to e-bay.

Most definitely not. If you look up the style number on that tag (8956) it's the gold lotus maxima. So yeah, super dodgy ficcare listing.

That is REALLY slimy.

I think it is a cheesy fake. You were right to report them

I'm in agreement with everyone here. That is most definitely not a Ficarre. The nerve of some people.

It's really slimy, but in fairness, someone would have to be kind of an idiot not to notice something was arwy. I mean the tag says gold right on it. Nothing about that clip is gold.

White gold? Some people are likely to jump before they look properly, and they need protection by the law - isn't selling something under intentionally misleading advertising known as fraud?

I think everyone should report her listing!

They're also selling this (http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-France-Luxe-3-Black-Hair-Clip-40-00_W0QQitemZ220269164777QQihZ012QQcategoryZ45222QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and this (http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-L-Erickson-4-Plaid-Hair-Clip-32-00_W0QQitemZ370077662378QQihZ024QQcategoryZ45222QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). I wonder if they're fake as well.

Oh, they should definitely be reported. I'm not saying they shouldn't. Obviously, sleaziness is bad.

I'm just saying that one should look into what one buys. It took me 20 seconds on google to discover that the tag was mismatched to the product. I'm just saying if someone buys it, they are as much at fault for their misfortune as the person selling. As a buyer it is our responsibility to do the research on what we are getting, and when it's so obviously fraudulent, then it is trivial to figure out. Buyer beware. A clever hoax may be hard to identify, but if you buy something that looks like that that's labeled as two tone gold, without checking it out, then well, you probably deserve it.

White gold for $20? If it's too good to be true it probably is. I guess I get tired of when when people (I'm not saying anyone here, just in general) don't do their research, get screwed, and then won't take any responsibility for their own mistake.

The gold on the ticket should give it away right away, but I know how easily that could be overlooked by a buyer. Terrible.

I reported it as well. It's not even a clip, it's a barrette. What a skeevy loser.

/off to look at other fakes to report

The first one looks legit but way overpriced http://www.franceluxe.com/pc/9380/franceluxejawscascades/index.html

The second is just ugly and I didn't look it up.

Very possible it was an honest mistake. I bought two ficcares from that seller and they were listed at the same time as the fake clip posted above. Maybe the tag fell off one of the other clips and was put on the non-ficcare by accident.
These are the two I bought, and I'm almost certain they are the real thing.

I do agree the clip mentioned in this thread isn't a ficcare, at least not one that has been in a catalog since 2005.

I think that explanation makes a lot of sense, Cinnamon Hair. It's just so hard to believe that they were practicing conscious, purposeful fraud in such a public way -- they had to know they'd get caught!

Maybe I'm naive :wannabe:, but I want to think it was just an honest mistake.

That said, how stoopid of them to make such a mistake! They're supposed to be professionals, after all.

That is quite possible, Cinnamon Hair. They have an excellent rating from customers, which tends to speak volumes about their reputation more than one possible clerical error.

I checked on the France Luxe website. The Erickson clip is legit - they are selling one identical to it on the site for $30.00. The jaw clip looks like it could be legit, but I could not find one on the site that was like it.

I wish ebay had a report button that was easily accessible because I cannot find it from the page linked *searches*

It is right down the bottom of the page under "other options". :)

In the Dutch ebay when I look up this listing there is no report link. Good to know.

It's not your item's tag on the barrette--the barette's tag shows it belonging to a 2-tone gold lotus classic maximas clip. Somehow another item's tag found it's way onto the barrette. Given the seller's rating, I lean toward it being an honest mistake. Hopefully, now that it is reported, the issue will be ironed out with the ebay folks.

In a case where the seller has a good reputation, I think I'd have contacted the seller directly and pointed out the error and only report it to eBay if the seller doesn't respond and fix it. Honest mistakes do happen, and eBay these days can be quite hostile to small sellers.

It's a French barrette? How can they call it a clip? I always thought in order to call something a hair clip it needs to at least have a hinge. :)

But.. a French barrette has a hinge, right? :)

I searched ebay for ficcare's and this is one of the items that came up:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-Ficcare-Ficcarissimo-3-Crystal-Hair-Clip-34-00_W0QQitemZ370077655487QQihZ024QQcategoryZ45222QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The ficcarissimo's don't look like that from the side view; they look more like the maximas from the side view.

Buyer beware, I guess.:(
