hey everyone!
I just find some amazing hairstyles in youtube that based on a knots. Now, I know that there some knotted buns that consider like protective hairstyle (or at least not damageable ones), but in this tutorial there many tiny knots, and I want to ask your opinion- are this knots can cause damage- break your hair, or stretch it?
what do you think, guys?

here is the tutorials:

Frankly, if the style relies on a ponytail to begin, then that is not a good thing.

Also, with knots, you need to be very, very careful to knot in the same way each time you knot.

Also, all that product added to your hair is just coating it with more stuff, all of which attracts more particles to your hair, making it dirtier faster.

Lastly, it just seems like way too much hair manipulation for the end result.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

i have a problem with these:
the small knots that get done are fine
looks great
now, the tiny knots that just do themselves and reproduce when un-doing them on the other hand...
a-hum O.o
so, well... better do them when planning a trim *;O)

big knots... hell yeah *:OD

I don't think my hair would do those but they look great.

I feel like these are probably about as safe, or damaging as complicated braids. It would probably help prevent damage if the hair being knotted was a bit slippery, but at the same time that would make less secure... Hmm... at any rate I think I'll try incorporating the knotted headband into my hairstyle today instead of twin, half-french braids. (There's probably a proper name for them, but I don't know what it is. By half-french I mean I only add hair from one side of the braid instead of both.)

I think it depends on one's hair type. My hair would shred doing this. Someone with strong, sleek hair could probably pull it off with mininal damage if any.
