How do i get my hair to be as straight as humanly possible without ANY heat, no straightening or blow drying like do i let it dry in a pony tail or do i try to detangle while wet or is it too damaging to touch wet/damp hair with a comb? I LOVE straight hair (my hair dries naturally wavy with knots) I tried herbal essences dangerously/secudtively straight shampoo and conditioner, didn't really work at all.

I gently detangle when wet.

I've used wrapping (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=37395&highlight=straighten+hair+guilt+free) and it worked great for me.

I just (a couple of days ago) started to blow dry my hair on the lowest heat setting as well as using the cool button. It made my hair straight and less tangled (waves when it dries natural) and seemingly no heat damage. There is also a girl on youtube who has a tutorial on using a fan to blow it dry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omGqvaDVGTo

I'm worried about using this, will it take like 10 hours to dry? ): would it be a good idea to wear a dry swimming hat over my wrapped hair to stop it from falling when drying? I still think it would take so long to dry :/

I use Timotei "Perfectly Straight" shampoo and balm. Works great every time and takes away the frizz. But my hair is 1c/2a, so I don't know if it will straighten wavier hair as much as it straightens mine.

The way I do it is this:
- I start off with dry hair
- I take a mister bottle filled with water (you can also add aloe vera gel, if you'd like)
- I spray my hair until it is a bit damp
(you can also just wait after you wash your hair until it is mostly dry and dampen it with the mister bottle if it's not damp enough, or wait longer)
- I start wrapping it around my head (I also use clips to keep it in place, but you don't have to)
- I place a bandana over my head (but a scarf would work as well, a swimming cap won't let air circulate and will slow down the drying - I wouldn't recommend it)
- after about an hour it is dry (if you didn't over-wet your hair) so I finish it off with a de-frizz spray (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=277) (you can also just go to sleep like this if your scarf won't slip, most people do this overnight to rearrange the hair on non-wash days and avoid sleep braid waves or what-have-you)

This is the video I used originally: Old Doobie video (http://jensnaturalhairjourney.tumblr.com/post/17122351875/old-doobie-video), and this is how it looks after you finished wrapping: doobie wrapping skills improve (http://jensnaturalhairjourney.tumblr.com/post/17527141660/is-it-me-or-did-my-doobie-wrapping-skills-improve)

I've used enormous rollers (a couple of inches across) to straighten my hair once its mostly dry, so still slightly damp. Gives a nice bit of volume but does a good job of removing my curls, dries fairly quickly too.
