View Full Version : Scalp massage without turning head upside down/disturbing hair too much?

Hi everyone!

I've noticed that when I do the type of scalp massage where you turn your head upside down (with the hair loose), I lose a lot of hair, although it feels really nice and makes my scalp tingle.

How are you actually supposed to do scalp massages? Recently I've been rubbing my scalp in sort of strokes, in the direction that the hair lies, with clean, dry fingers after detangling. It's about the same motion I use when rubbing in shampoo.

Is this an okay method? Is there a better one? Would it be more effective if I tied my hair up and massaged it upside down, but without the disturbance to the direction of the hair which seems to cause the shedding?

Thanks! :)

I just stick my fingers into my hair near the scalp, then prod and wriggle in ways that feel good. :D

My hair doesn't like to be asked to move, and I can do this without disturbing The Beast too much.
