I came across this on youtube and I thought it was really neat!

Does anyone know what it might be called? Has anyone tried this before? I have never seen anything like it.

It's fit for a princess! Definitely not a DIY hairstyle!

I've seen that before, I think there's some pictures in the Braid thread. Spiral crown braid, I think? If I remember correctly, that was a DIY hairstyle actually. I can't manage a regular crown braid yet, but I have hope!

Wow... that was intense... I added it to my Beauty and Healthcare playlist. It was hard not to want to add it to my long hair inspiration playlist. I would love to wear that hairdo to work one day. So protective and the comments that I would get!! *squeals* <3 Love it. ^.^

Oh, is that what it is called? I'll have to do some thread searches. :)

Yeah, it does look difficult to do!

Ha ha, yes! It would be a great way to keep hair out of the way!

It's really fun; you should try it! I've seen some people do it on themselves, but the best I could do was on my little sister:

Agree, I like it. It is a fun style.

Mine don't turn out nearly as pretty as the work you've done here with your sister, but even my sloppy ones hold like a rock. I cringed when they put hairspray in the girl's hair at the end of the video! I was like... NO NEED FOR THAT!

There have been a couple of times when I got off work, brushed copious amounts of coconut oil into my hair, and then put it into this braid to let it marinate all weekend. It stays up really, really well. And it doesn't hurt or pull on my scalp at all.

It'll definitely get people looking! I tried it once on my hair, and I wasn't nearly as lucky. Though, I do agree there is no need for hairspray as it's one of the sturdier styles I've come across!

Great idea for disguising oil!

:)I just did this on my little sister also, it didn't turn out as nice though because her hair is thinner. But it was pretty easy, and she loves it. :D

Wow, that is lovely and you did a wonderful job! ! Now I really really really want to try it out, but I can't even seem to do a simple french braid very well,...I'll just have to start practicing a bunch! :p

Oh, that is so nice that they hold up well and that is great you use it for when you put in oil! I really need a hairstyle that stays up out of the way, and it is nice to see that it works for long hair too! :cheese:
