Hello there! Boy, do I have a long story to tell you.
After avoiding hairdressers for over 10 months I caved. My ends were just a mess, so dry beyond repairing. And I tried everything, believe me. It was really time for a chop. It was quite a scary thing to do going to a hairsalon, since my last experience didn't go so well (read: greenblue hair). But I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The reason I chose this particular salon was because their website said that they actually diagnose your hair before doing anything. And while I was there I was very happy to learn that they use sulfate-free and parabenfree shampoos! And I was even happier a day later when I noticed my scalp was completely flake-free, something I haven't been able to achieve with my mild sls-free shampoo. They were trying to sell me stuff, which they didn't succeed in at the spot, but I must say I'm intrigued. So I was wondering if anyone happens to have experience with Kevin Murphy, the brand they were using.
So I wasn't traumatized this time, even though they combed my wet and very tangly hair after washing and then escorted me back to the washing-area and put a pigment-treatment in and rinsed again after ten minutes to only blowdry after that. She did put some morrocan oil in my hair before blowdrying. I just hate blowdrying and I don't understand why she combed my hair between washing and conditioning. But putting that aside, to my surprise I was completely frizz-less. But that didn't last long though, because when I washed my hair, deep conditioned and put oil in it it was downright frizzy again. I really don't understand why this keeps happening. I use a mild shampoo, don't wash my lengths, use a deepconditioning hairmask, oil everyday. But I find myself oiling so much that my hair just looks limp and still is frizzy. I thought a big chop would help and it did a bit, but my ends just feel crispy and the static is driving me crazy. I've tried SMT's, proteïntreatments, but when I do my hair is even frizzier! The more I use the more frizz I get. Clarifying helps my crispy ends, but it seems the frizz is certainly not related to any kind of build-up.
I'm at a loss here, so I would really appreciate some help. Does anyone have any ideas how I could stop this frizz. I never had this much frizz before even though my hair was damaged and dry. It just started about 6 months ago and I have absolutely no lead on why. And I can't understand how it's possible that the hairdresser got rid of the frizz, when all I do is exactly the same as her minus the blowdrying, and she did wash my lengths.
