This may be silly to ask, but I have searched this forum and Google and haven't been able to find an answer, lol.

What is scalp cooling? How do you do it? What's the purpose?

I have seen it's normally done within the Indian culture; adding spices to oils to cool? (Saw it in a Youtube video which sparked my interest.)

If you can answer my question, it would be greatly appreciated. :flower:

It sounds like something from traditional Indian and/or Asian medicine where you're seen as having a balance of "hot" and "cold" in your body and certain foods/medicines/conditions etc. cause a lack of balance so your body ends up TOO "hot/cold".

The specifics are totally escaping my mind right now.

I'm pretty sure that's an Ayurvedic concept, so maybe you could look specifically with that key word.

ETA: it's also referred to as "body cooling," so that may help in your search.

Thanks! ^___^

I just wasn't sure if this was a common method that I was missing out on. LOL

There's also a much more heavy-duty version of this using a "cold cap" for cancer patients undergoing chemo in an attempt to reduce associated hair loss. It's so cold though that it causes headaches that some find unbearable.
