View Full Version : Thinking of trimming

My hair has no more splits than usual, but I haven't been happy with the hemline lately. My hair is a bit of a V - like this, a pic from a few months ago.

I'm wondering if I took off 1/2 inch and deepened my V a bit, if I'd be happier with it. I don't want to lose length, which is part of what concerns me with reshaping the hem.

Maybe I could microtrim every month and take slightly more off the sides?

Other than a skinny braid tassle, what other unexpected issues might I run into with a deeper V?

Any ideas or suggestions about how I could spice things up a little and get me feeling a bit more happier with my hem?

Well If you think you want a trim I would go for it :) Your hair has come a long way! I think you deserve to do a little something to it if it would make you happier.
The only thing that would bother me personally would be that the hair in the front that drapes over my shoulders looks shorter. I have face framing and I hate that it takes away from that nice weight in the front of my hair.

That's what I'm worried about too. At the moment, my hair is long enough to stay behind my shoulders without constantly putting it there. I'm worried if I trim too much that it will float around a bit much.

So, I went for it and trimmed a deeper V. It looks weirdly short, but I guess I did take off 4cm back to 74cm. Generally, the majority of my splits are in the front, so hopefully taking more off the sides will help with that.

It looks great! The V hemline really accentuates your waves. What method did you use to cut it? You've inspired me to seriously consider a V hemline when my hair gets a bit longer.
