I tried going cone free, but I love to blowdry my hair 2-3 times a week and every heat protectant I know has cones in it. So tell me if this is a good plan, clarify about once a month and use jessi curl shampoo/conditioner 3 times a week. Would this hair plan cause me hair problems because I know I am using cones and jessi curls does not remove cones.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with those products, but maybe you could blow dry on a cool setting & thus negate the need for coney heat protectant serums?

I don't think heat is a good idea, but if you do it try blow drying on a cool settind and when your hair is almost dry. Does jessi curl has sulfates in it?

also how does one blowdry on cool setting only. DO you do this when your hair is wet or dry.

I don't know that anyone can adequately answer that for you because everyone's hair is so different. I know that quite a few LHC members use cones regularly. Why not just use a traditional SLS shampoo whenever you feel like you have build up?

ya I will be using neutrogena anti residue shampoo when ever I get build up. I just remembered that I need an alternative to jessi curl shampoo that does not make my hair go super poofy. Tat is the only shampoo I have that does not make my hair into a poof ball

I can't speak to the use of blow dryer, I haven't used one on my hair in living memory (i.e., since long before my kids were born), but clarifying should only be done if your hair actually needs it. There are articles in the Articles (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php)section that cover analysis of what symptoms indicate a need to clarify. From what I've read, not all cones build up. I certainly used them for years and never did a clarify, just switched up products regularly which seemed to do about the same thing.
