I've got my eye on a few on eBay and amazon. I haven't bought one yet, but I'm going to soon.

I think Walmart might have some or even Sally or Etsy should have them too.

I've crocheted some, bought some. Really nicely made ones for long wear are sold by sites and stores for the Orthodox Jewish community, who practice hair covering.

I bought a "long" one from an orthodox store. It is lovely, but not long by LHC standards. It is about mid-back? I also have a beautiful crocheted snood I bought at a Ren Faire 20+ years ago. I wore it for my wedding, and still have it and occasionally wear it. It is pretty short though too.

My problem with snoods that are too short is the weight of my hair puddling in the back pulls them off the back of my head. I am wanting to make another, but long enough for my hair as it is now.

I recently bought my first one at an SCA event for $4. I was super excited! Now that I know what they look like up close, I'm going to try my hand and making my own.

Most stores I've been too sale them in the hat section. I got my first one from Kohls. I've also bought a few at Claire's and Forever21.

Etsy! I bought several, they hold the length of my hair (when it was waist length) behind my motorcycle helmet so the length did not get all tangled. Mine are crocheted thread and are stretchy. Do a search on etsy, they were pretty inexpensive and very pretty.

I have a few of those things, but I got them at Rexall (the local drugstore) so they may not be what you had in mind exactly. I hope you find what you're looking for! :)

I don't care for crocheted snoods (on myself), so I wear fabric snoods.

She is on vacation, don't know when she'll be back, but I get mine from underthere (https://www.etsy.com/transaction/49354112) on Etsy. Love them.

Are you a crocheter (don't want to ask if you're a hooker... ;)) or knitter? There are some vintage patterns for free online.

I believe I got mine from Lady McSnood: http://www.snoods.com/. (She is popular here, I see! lol)

I made a fabric one once, too - I *think* it was this one: http://proudmommy.tripod.com/snood.html.

Other places are:

I have not purchased from these places, just know about them.

Did the fabric one stray tight to your head? This would be great for work as the surgery caps are getting small and itchy.

I used two small snap barrettes at each temple to help prevent slipping but most of the staying power came from the snood itself, yes.

Wouldn't bother me a bit. My friend K used to joke that I was a happy hooker, her pun on the book - Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker, since I love to crochet and I'm always happy to do it.

I haven't gotten one myself, but I know, just as a lot of others have said, you can find tons online as well as make your own. And maybe even some other stores carry them.

Another option, and the only one I've ever really seen, is at a Renaissance faire. There was a vendor selling them. And since it's the faire season (although it may be winding down for some communities. I know there's two coming up shortly where I live). There may or may not be a snood vendor, but hey, Ren faires are awesome anyway :).
