How many of you have gone really short before?

Have you guys ever cut off a huge chunk of your hair so you could have it short?
How did it feel?

I have BSL hair, my goal is TBL, but I'm considering doing an angled bob for a change..

I figure I could wear clip-in extensions if I want to wear it long one day, but I have an emotional attachment to hair that's MINE.

I've never had "short" hair before, as a child my mother kept it between APL and BSL. During my first year of highschool I was given the choice to get my "big girl cut" and go shorter. After a few months of consideration, I chose to aim for super long instead.

I cut off my APL hair, which was permed, when I.got pregnant with my first baby. I knew I.would not perm it during pregnancy. It was cute but it was a lot more work.when.it was short.

In highschool I went from almost APL to ear length. My best friend and I were bored one day, so we decided she would give me a little cut. I only wanted it cut to my shoulder, maybe an inch or two shorter. But she didn't know how to cut hair. So she cut it, then one side was shorter. She cut the other side to even it up. Then that side was shorter. So she cut again. This repeated until my hair was ear length. I wasn't very upset though. We both laughed through it and it ended up pretty cute. And I still loved her lol. But.......she never cut my hair again

When I was 18 (fourteen years ago) I cut my long mbl hair off to my ears to piss off my mother. It was so traumatizing. I'm 5'10 and people were calling me sir all the time. I grew it out after that and have had it bsl to waist ever since. I would never EVER cut my hair that short again.

When I was in high school, I chopped from just below waist length to an angled bob. It was fun for a few months, but eventually I missed my long hair and realized that I had chopped years of hair off, and regretted it.

When I was in elementary school I had hip length hair and I cut it off to chin length. Loved it at the time.

OH yes. When I was 17, I cut my waist length hair (it was beautiful - thick, virgin, no taper) to about one inch long MYSELF. Rebellion thing.

Twice most recently in mid-march to my chin and in high school I had my BSL hair cut to my shoulders. It took me so long to regrow it the first time. I don't know why I let it get so unhealthy this time and ended up cutting so much off.

Went from probably mid back to shaved once. Loved it. I think if you want a certain style and have thought about it for a while you will enjoy it. The only reason I was not completely thrilled the last time I cut from waist to bob was because I anticipated it being less work but it wasn't.
