This evening my group of friends are having a Jane Austen evening- film, food from the era and dressing up. My hair is currently Tb. I'm looking for inspiration for a hairstyle to do! Not too difficult as I've no time to practice. Input very welcome! Spur of the moment plans!

Don't be authentic--Jane Austen's time was one of the very few times in history before the 1920's when women wore short cropped hair.
I reenact this time period, and the hairstyles in the paintings are gorgeous. TBL is longer than was fashionable, but it can certainly be made to work. I've had great success with paper curling, which is both authentic and yields lovely curls.
This was achieved after paper-curling by parting my hair in front of the ears, tying the back hair in a half-knot, and circling it around before pinning it. Soft, face-framing curls were the big thing at this time. What's also great? Turbans were in bigtime, and that protects your hair from the sun. Very chic!
Very cute, Tori! Never heard of paper curling before...
Similar concept to rag curling! There are a ton of tutorials on Youtube, but this is the one I learned best from.
