My 5 year anniversary

I never did an anniversary thread I think, but I felt kind of obligated with the 5-year mark. It feels so official. I was doubting though, since my hair has been through a lot thanks to being ill, and I'm still shedding every day. I don't have the same thickness I once had, but still, I can't complain.

I decided to grow my hair out again after years of having a typical halflong layered cut, because I got my first really bad haircut, this was my first hairpic ever:


I learned to care of my hair and the strawlikeness went away.


Then after some growing, I got my first big chop to get rid of the worst of the haircut:


Then I started to grow out more, still having some growing out layers and pony though:

And funnily enough, I was wearing the same shirt as I did like 5 years ago! I'm finally able to wear it again, lol.

I've been at hip length for 2 years or so now, I've been wanting to get to tailbone (95 cm, longest I ever had was 92 cm and on the latest pics it's 89 cm), but I need to get my illness and shed under control first. I used to have over 10 cm thickness, but now it's 9 cm.

So yeah, hopefully, I can celebrate on my 10th anniversary that I have my full thickness back, damage free hair, at hip, maybe tailbonelength?

I do feel very happy with my hair at this length. It feels like me again, after years of feeling obligated to cut layers and wear it at shoulder-apl length. A very bad haircut led to a very good thing, I feel like I am truly myself with this kind of hair and I found a lot of friends and like-minded people thanks to this hair journey
