They are still straight across, but they blend better and look far less choppy when cut that way.

I'm trying to grow my bangs out now, cause they get greasy so fast.....but, I feel like I might get bored without them! We'll see.
Mine get just greasy enough in one day that I have to use a bit of dry shampoo to make them wearable again. But it works like a charm!

I just gave it a go, I only took the tiniest bit off - about 1/8" - but it worked brilliantly! Much better than having it done at the salon (I knew I could do a better job ). And you're totally right about the cutting technique, it looks great, still nice and blunt but blends perfectly. Thank you for the advice and inspiration, I've been trying to pluck up the courage to do this for weeks! I have some random questions about fringes but I think I will start a new thread to avoid hijacking yours.

You did great - they look amazing. I do like the before picture too, though!

Oh, palaeoqueen, I know you've already cut, but I just remembered that this image helped me to decide where to make the part. Because some people do it in a half-circle, but I found mine turned out better by using the triangular method.

I only did a tiny cut to start so that's still really helpful, especially as I'm having trouble with the part. Thanks!

Ok so I had to go and try out this method right away... and it's brilliant! I did a pretty good job of guessing where the part needed to be but I was a bit too conservative (fear probably ) so I have just now tidied it up a bit and taken a tiny bit more of the length. I would post a pic but my husband has gone on fieldwork and taken the camera with him. It *may* need just a teensy bit extra thickness but I don't want to do too much too soon so will check again next time I wash my hair so I can see how it lies.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Here is a bit better of a photo where I am wearing them parted. I'm having so much fun with them!
