Admittedly, when I first heard the phrase I thought of - *cough* - adult toys and got very confused.

I agree but I use it anyway because having to look up how 'accessories' is spelled in English annoys me even more.

I agree, but what is a better name for them? I haven't come up with one myself.

    Change is the only constant.

I've heard of people calling them "hair tools" which struck me as more accurate, but a bit too utilitarian for my taste.

I have heard people call them hair tools, but that always brings to mind combs and brushes or plain pins rather than decorative objects for holding the hair up.

Neon. Not just hair toys, but clothing as well. I do not look good in highlighter yellow/orange/green/pink! And those feather extensions bug me.

Not completely true. There was a thread a few months ago about a girl who wanted to get those rooster feathers intwined in her hair- and most rooster feathers are plucked and the rooster killed FOR the feathers. I imagine it might be the same with other birds, unless the company makes a point of saying they are fake or are just moulted feathers.

Anyways, the hair trend that annoys me the most are the highlight and lowlight trend. Your hair has them naturally. Let your hair be.

haha. The first couple of times that's what came to my mind as well.
