I used to braid all the way to the ends too..never considering that the longer braided ends were more fragile than the rest of the braid. I thought "well, its protected because its braided"..which was dumb.

I like the old length. I can tell you though, no matter what age you are, sometimes really long hair can limit what you can do. Not everyone has the tools or ability to master various styles.
