I think pin curls high on your head would be gorgeous. Either in a half up or all up.

Going for terminal, but also enjoying wearing my hair down and curly.

I am totally drooling over your dress! May I suggest this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vni-2...2&feature=plcp only pull the end of the twists back together into one? She has many other AWESOME hair tutorials that you might like. Have fun at your gathering!

Oh! And for the curls I would do sock curls (not sock bun), they're similar to rag curls but wider and they stay in! Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzJKdHglFck Another half up style from the same youtuber who did the sock curls would be pancake braids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUo47...feature=relmfu I think the curls would hold well, especially if you scrunched with some aloe.

Has the event happened yet - and if so what did you do?

If you're still looking for ideas you could try 5 stranded braids, if you do a kind of hair veil, French braid every 4 crossovers or something, with a couple of accent braids you can keep all the length and half of your hair out while still having lots of detail. And 5 stranded isn't that hard to do and will work with layers since you can just plait to the end of your top layer and have a tail that blends nicely with the rest of your hair. Sorry about the haphazard description.
I've found that as soon as you go past 3 stranded everyone thinks it looks really complex without much extra effort on your part!

Thanks for more suggestions! No the event has not passed yet. It's next saturday and I have been trying some things but haven't been completely fixed on a style yet. I tried the mermaid braid (or what was it called again) and wore it out and some of my layers in the front kind of made it loosen up in the middle of the braid and made it not look very good, so I might have to wait for a bit for my layers to grow for it or figure out a way to not use my front hair in it.

I will probably have only a few hours between things to have my hair done from straight damp hair to the fancy hair and then out the door since apparently in the morning I have to be out taking my band promo pictures with wet messy hair down in front of my face... So to be able to do curls, I'd probably have to use a hair drier.

I do like 5-stranded braids and other fancy braids, even though I haven't been able to master the waterfall braids yet. Somehow I always mess it up and I don't know how that happens :O

Well gladly I still have a few days to practise and try out things. Hope it works out ok and I will post pictures of the real deal from the event

I love your updo!! And I'm super fond of the pearl spin pins! How did you find the little spin parts to put them on? They showed up so well in your hair. =)

Anyway - this is great inspiration for me! =)
