    Default Elastic Ribbon Hair Ties

Has anyone tried elastic ribbon hair ties like these?

I'm thinking about picking some up from Sephora tomorrow. I also found what looks like the same thing from an etsy seller.

I'm always looking for gentle ways to put my hair in a ponytail. If I end up getting them, I'll post about it on this thread.

ETA: Here's another etsy seller. I haven't purchased anything from either of these sellers, just mentioning that they sell these types of bands:

They're cute - haven't used them. I would consider trying them though (as my elastic hair band is currently starting to give me a headache) Was confused at first by the sephora pic - couldn't tell if you tie them??? But I liked the Etsy pics a lot. Overall, seems like they have decent reviews. Kind of expensive though...

It does seem like they might come untied easily. The DIY option looks pretty easy, though I wonder if it's the same material.

I've used a knee high stockings for hair tyes, they come in different colors and they work fine. Anyone tried that? Or even making your own with elastic and some cloth tied around it... I also have terry cloth elastic that I got at walmart that work great.

I have used some from one of the links above. Personally I like them. They are very gentle on my hair and very pretty. Downsides are - they slip off my braid tassel quite easily. They do go a bit bobbly and loose their shape after a while - quicker I think than the normal no-snag elastics I use.

I have some I bought off etsy and I like them. Very slippery but they never pull my hair out, which I've had even with ouchless hairthings. They do definitely kind of lose their shape and I would only ever get dyed ones again -- I bought some that had designs stamped on them and they look pretty gnarly after only a few uses. I bought these: the black and pink ones with printed designs I wouldn't advocate but the others I would. It came with a 15% off code for if I bought any more.

I want to try these tie-dye ones.

I bought some of these at DisneyWorld after one of the rides blew off my silicon hair ties. They were stamped with the Mickey logo, which is now pretty mangled looking, but they work great. They've stretched, so I have to wrap a time or two more than when they were new. I've only used them for braid tassles though, as I very rarely pony tail my hair - I think they might slide off of a pony...

I bought six from ManeMessage on Etsy (pricey though). I like them, but they are indeed loosing shape. They feel gentle and are pretty so I consider buying new colours soon.

I have some of these and use them when I'm going to make a braided bun and don't want anything to show. They do stretch out a bit, but I band my braid loosely anyway, so that doesn't matter to me. Overall, I prefer silk scrunchies if I'm leaving my braid loose, because I fold up and wrap the tassel, and scrunchies work better for that.
