Step 1: hold detangled hair at the nape as if creating a low ponytail.

The only time my hair is detangled is when it is soaking wet. I want to try all these beautiful styles so badly.

I've tried this several times but I think my hair just ain't long enough yet, even with the modified versions. I am in awe of this style though and I live for the day when I can wear it!

You should try it even if your hair is not detangled and see how it looks. I have been surprised sometimes at how well different updos turn out even when I haven't been able to detangle before hand. In some cases the look is just a bit different, more 'messy' and casual.

My hair is mid-butt, closer to classic. I've spent an hour trying to make this work with tutorials. After the twist my hair only wraps around it once and it is loose so it pulls the hairs in the front of my head tight holding the weight of the style. I'll give it another shot when I get a few more inches of hair. I didn't have enough to stuff through the loop so it just unraveled. Only thing I can guess is my hair is too thick.

I gave it a go and it turned out ok, the only thing I don't like is the fact that it makes my old dye so noticeable, the roll looks stuck on because it's so red compared to my virgin hair. I need to get myself a ficcare to do these sorts of styles. At the moment I have a chop stick jammed in there and it doesn't look as nice to me.

2012 aim: Classic length! Ultimate goals: Knee length and dye free. World Domination.
