Oooooooh pretty! Ive never seen anything like that before, and I went to a punjabi school!
I recently found a thread in another forum about these Indian hair accessories and I fell in love!
For those who don't know what this is:
"Parandi is a long bunch of threads with elaborate decorative tassels at the lower end, and are used by Punjabi women to braid their long hair" Source
You can buy them online, but you can easily make them yourself.
These are the Parandi I've made:
I prefer mine without tassels, because I use them for my braided buns.
Pros:
- braids look fuller and longer
- braided buns look huge!
- you don't need elastics
- because of the longer and thicker braid, braided buns are more stable and center hold buns are likely to hold without pins!
- your ends aren't exposed
- you will get braiding waves to the very end of your hair!
- you can choose colors similar to your hair to have natural looking "hair extension"
- or you can use contrasting colors or colors that match your clothes
This is how it looks down:
Because this post is already very picture heavy, you can find the instruction on my website. Hope this is helpful and sorry for any mistakes (I'm not a native speaker )
I would love to see your Parandi pictures!

habioku

Now measuring in at 37 inches, or BCL. Classic by Christmas '15 is a real possibility! Yeah, that's my clothes horse in the pic. I'm that glam.

They look gorgeous in your hair! I have to remember this when my hair grows longer.

Those look gorgeous! I especially like the green in your hair, it contrasts beautifully!

Layers cut back in, oops!!!!
Mmm. I think I will make some myself.
II would love to buy a vibrant colour tasseled one, but I guess I could make myself on or two before I do that
Beautiful, cant wait to try
Those are so pretty! I think I want some now
Same here, they look great! I want to buy some!
Very pretty!
That's really cool. My hair is still too short, but I could see this being useful for trying braided versions of buns I couldn't otherwise do with APL hair.
I want to finally get back to Classic. Growing again starting March 2018.
