So you clip each section at the top, braid down and then release them?

I clip them together with my hair yes except for the middle strand, start the Dutch braid and as soon as I have done "under", "under" once I remove the clips.

Unfortunately so many ends are sticking out, I won't upload a pic yet. It looked better in the summer when it was done by a friend

Thanks PolarCathy! My first try was just okay so I won't post pics either. I'll keep practicing though

I start with mine on the top, instead of underneath. It stays up better that way.

I got a compliment on my paranda today in the store!

i clip mine into the top of the braid too and then remove the slide when i finish. I only tend to braid my hair at night and as a result im not the neatest with it, strands are always changing section and what not. Because of this i really had to concentrate to keep each parandi section in a section of plait (i.e. i would end up with 2/3rds parandi in one hair section!) - the result will probably be to force me to become neater at dutch (i still find it difficult to switch direction in my brain after having always done french braids before). looking forward to having it neat enough to wear out in the daytime

I want to play! Needs some work, but works excellently for my braided bun! It's weird to have an almost hip length braid too... the bottom doesn't look too good, that's when my hairs started poking out. I think I might need a bit more yarn. HMM.

the major thing i like about these it that if you have the threads long enough your ends aren't ends any more any damage control sounds good to me!

I love this! I tried making one but I think it's a bit short, I don't get that ring of just plaited wool around the bun, which I really like the look of. But when I wound it into a bun I didn't need to fix it with anything it just stayed there! I think the extra friction from the wool held it together.

Does anyone else have trouble with losing the wool in amongst the hair? I mean it gets engulfed by the the hair in each strand of the braid so you don't get to see the colours along the length of the plait. How do you keep it visible? I made the clumps of wool pretty thick but it still seems to get lost!

Thank you Habioku for the thread

I'm definetly going to make some I like the idea it protects your real ends and at the same time, makes your hair look fuller and longer. Cool!

I can't knit however I have seen a really beautiful brown wool with hints of gold glitter. I can't wait to make one for my hair.

I will go shopping Monday and buy it.
    Will post pictures when done
