I agree with you in that the dress seems to ask for big waves or curls.
Hey y'all, I'm going to a formal on Thursday and I am in need of a spot of advice.
I have already decided to wear my hair down, perhaps with a few strands pinned back in a rudimentary half-up. I'm getting my hair done in a salon. I am not afraid of heat.
However, I am unsure whether to do big loose curls, mostly straight with curled ends, some sort of beach waves, or straight with a body wave that is curved ever so slightly at the ends.
This is my dress:

These are some ideas for what I have in mind.
Big wavy curls:

Mostly straight, but with texture and curved a bit.

Beach waves, minus the braids

And to give you an idea of how I want my hair pinned back (the blondish picture, not the brunette straight one)

Which of the above do you think would suit my dress the most? Also, I'm strongly considering wearing it straight because I want to show off the length. I am almost at tailbone and it would just be lovely to show off the length as much as possible. But I don't know if it will go with the dress. The dress makes me feel like a wood nymph and I was looking through the Tolkien thread before! It also has a 60s/70s feel, which can mean big waves, or Brigitte Bardot sex kitten hair.
What do you guys think?

Knee+ length! Lady Gelôs, Keeper of the Silken Aulaeum in the Order of the Long Haired Knights <3
I think big waves or curls might be good for that dress, though when that is said, I think you also could go completely straight and go for a hippie look. I however think that curls will dress that outfit up for a formal occasion.
Thanks you guys! I'm probably going to go with the big curls. I'm due for a haircut soon so I can get my hair blown out straight then.
Now, for the top.
I want to pin back some of the front strands of my hair so that my earrings show a bit. Should I go with Texas Beauty Pageant volume at the roots, or should I leave it smooth?
Big curls and waves. And say leave it smooth.

Irishlady, thank you!
Y'all have convinced me, I think I'm going to leave it smooth, with some volume in the back (I can't help it!)
Big curls!!
