    thanks everyone!

another thing i really wanted to know:
do oil[coconut, jojoba etc] on hair is safe at sun and protecting the hair, or the sun is frying it? i oil my hair all the time with these..especially when im going to the beach or pool, to protect it from the water. should i wear a hat in the sun?
    Thank you!

The oils do not offer anywhere near the sun protection needed to prevent the sun damaging your hair with too much or enough, exposure. No natural oil can do that.

You need to cover your hair - at least until cosmetic scientists can come up with an SPF cosmetic sunblock that will protect hair well. So far, they have not.

well, to go out to the sun with oil on the hair is bad?
i mean, worse than without oil? extra demaging it? it is frying the hair like people say?
    i must clarify this..
sun alone is ok through if i dont expose to it that much and to weak sun most of the time?
do you have a "sun thread"?

Lemon, like other citruses, is a photosensitizer, so if you are at all prone to sunburn, it is not a good idea to go out in the sun with it. I did that several years ago and got nasty blistered burns on my forehead!

I have tried lightening my hair with everything under the sun and never had any luck except for actual bleach, which does damage your hair. I am skeptical of the claims posed here and just want to say do not be surprised if they don't work.
Feb 2013, solid BSL again but shedding. Wondering if this is really terminal length. Hairtype 1b/2b, F/M, ii
