New here..trying to regrow my hair after a disaster :(

Hi everyone, I am new here

I am was a long haired girl for a VERY long time (more than half my life) but recently had to have my hair cut off to about 1/2-1 inch in length which was very traumatic for me and I am now trying to re grow my hair again. It was previously down to my waist but a very stupid stylist over processed it with too much bleach which caused me to suffer a really bad allergic reaction on my scalp and make my hair break off and cause me a lot of upset

I had to have it cut off in a big chop and now am trying to re grow it all out (never having it dyed again!) and it's been about 4+ months now of re growth. I am very much a long haired girl at heart and so this has been really emotional for me as I've felt like I've lost a huge part of my identity. Hoping to make some new friends on here who are facing the same sort of challenge in growing out their hair

Hello!

I kind of know what you're going through, my hair has also suffered from an overload of bleach and it is completely ruined

. I'd love to go for the big chop but I know I'd regret it. I've only got 5 months of regrowth so I know it's going to take some time to get some decent length with virgin hair, I am never touching hair dye again!

Ive had a bleach disaster also. I still have bleach in my hair as highlights though.

Hi again everyone and thanks for the warm welcome! I feel really sad that my beautiful long hair is now gone but I am determined to get back to that length again one day. Never going to get my hair bleached again so now trying to embrace a very short brown pixie cut until it grows out...it's the waiting that is so hard, it's going to take years! Plus I am unsure how to bypass the "mullet" stage when growing out my new pixie look. So far I figure wearing hair accessories is my best bet at coping with this stage.

Hi! Nice to meet you! Theres many people here going through similar situations, myself included. As sure I am that you can pull off a mullet in great style, I realy recomend getting a hat you love

It helped me so much I cant say. Virtualy everything between pixie and shoulder made me want to cry and reach for the scissors or dye, but my best friend the baggy beret saved me many times over...
