I think so far Ive seen less shedding and I was shedding handfuls in the shower so Im happy about that
Wow, thanks Ljkforu!!
Ok, so I were going to wash today.
Time to try adding amla.
The whole thing got a bit humorous.
I let the soapnuts be in a cup of water over night.
Strained.
Heated the liquid and pored over the 1 tsp amla.
Let steep for 30 minutes.
Then I would strain through coffeefilter.
After 20 minutes no more than 1/3 had gone through the filter. The amla powder had stopped the liquid from going through the filter.
I lifted the filter a bit to see if it would be better. Then the filter lost its bottom and all powder with liquid ran into the squirt bottle.
Ok, I wouldn't filter again, so I took the mud like water and squirted it into scalp. After a tiny bit of time, powder mud stopped the squirting hole too, causing the lid to come off and the liquid to splash into the bath tub.
I took the hair length to soak up the liquid, lifting the length over my head, squeezing the liquid to my scalp.
I really wasn't into mood to make the liquids all over again.
So talk about disaster like hair washing!
I do not feel very clever and smooth working.
Now everybody has got something to laugh about ^_^
Now I am sitting with catnip treatment in hair. At least the catnip infusion was behaving ^_^
I do wonder though, how on earth one can filter amla or other powder liquids, without total stop in the filter.

Haha, that does sound like quite a mess! :-) Sorry about that!!
I don't know if people ever try to filter out powders. As you experienced, I don't think it works very well. I think usually when people use amla, they just make a paste with it and apply that to their hair, then rinse out.
However, I was wondering about this because it is always to messy to do henna/indigo, I wondered if there might be some way to infuse the powders in a liquid, and strain them out. But how???? Maybe a cheesecloth?

I don't use a coffee filter but a strainer like in the picture below.
I let the mixture sit for a while so that all the mud is at the bottom of the container, then carefully pour the liquid to another container using a strainer and leaving most of the mud to the first container. The strainer catches the first bits of mud.
Aha, that is a good method! I wonder if it could work for hennaing!
I will try this instead.
Now my hair is drying, but scalp doesn't feel clean enough. I do not know if it is due to todays strange washing procedure, or if it is due to three washes in a row with to mild soapnut liquid. (EDIT: My hair is dry enough and sebum 'hard' enough, to take a while to show signs of "not good enough cleaning".).
I will get a mild sebum treatment week though It doesn't look greasy at all, but I can feel it doesn't feel as usual, more like day before washing day.
I had 4 new soapnuts in 1 cup of water this time, but lost much when lid came off, and got most of it in the lengths, just diluted drips on the scalp.
Ends feel soft after this wash, soapnut + amla, + treatment afterwards with catnip infusion. Camellia oil as leave in.
